Destination Guide: Burlington, Vermont

This is a guest post! Please join me in welcoming Annaliese of Southern Belle in Training! This week in Travel Month, we shift to mountain towns and nearby destinations.

Hi! My name is Annaliese, and I’m a fashion and lifestyle blogger at Southern Belle in Training. I work full-time as an on-air personality in radio broadcasting, so my blog is my side hustle, and has been for 5+ years now! In April 2017, I finished school and moved from North Carolina to Vermont, for my first full-time radio job. Despite the fact that both states are on the East Coast, it’s been quite a culture shock for me in the nine months since the move! To help make the best of things, I’ve thrown myself even more into blogging, and have had fun bringing my colorful Southern style to New England. I’ve also enjoyed discovering my new home city of Burlington.

Did you know that Burlington is the smallest “biggest” city out of any state in the country? That’s right- it’s the biggest city in the state of Vermont, but doesn’t even have 50,000 people! Vermont sure is tiny.

Anyways, I have really enjoyed writing some Burlington travel guides on my blog, so I’m honored that Roxy has chosen to feature them today! I’ll be sharing a Restaurants Guide and a Best Trails Guide. If I’ve learned one thing about my time in Vermont so far, it’s that the Vermonters love two things: good food, and spending as much time outdoors as possible! While chain restaurants are few and far between here, there’s tons of great local restaurants, and I’ve highlighted my favorites in this post. There’s also a plethora of amazing nature trails near Burlington which are perfect for beginner hikers (like myself!), so I hope that you enjoy my Best Trails Guide as well.
I’d love to connect with you further, please feel free to follow my blog Southern Belle in Training or connect with me on Instagram and Twitter @miss_alk. xoxo Annaliese
