Happy Thanksgiving, Community! I’m so thankful for all of you, especially as I’ve gone back to work full-time and don’t have quite as much time to devote the blog anymore. Excellent! That's impressive, though I personally am in favor of giving people Thanksgiving off whenever possible. Still, if Anthro chooses to be open I hope the staff was paid well and yay them for moving fast!!

I wasn’t following Anthropologie lately, I was just browsing the website as part of my lazy low key Thanksgiving, I placed a few items in my cart when the 30% off promo unexpectedly popped up. Perfect! I ordered Mixed Stich Cardigan (Sleeping on Snow sweaters are great), Maeve’s Layered Arabesque Dress (love the tulle and cozy sweater combo) and the Oda Sweater Dress in red. I haven’t tried any of them before, hope they fit. I’m wearing last year’s Embroidered Petals Swing Dress which I bought on an impulse around the same time last year, so I have a good feeling about this splurge. Happy Thanksgiving!

Well I ordered way more than I normally would have for myself. Got three dresses I was eyeing (Mira textured dress, patterned sweater dress and structured knot work dress in green) a pair of floral booties, a few candles and an apron that my daughter wanted. Can't wait for it to all come in!!

Oh no, she's not homeless! I'm sorry if the opening was misleading. She's in the house I grew up in and it's too much for one person to manage, especially someone who cannot see (she's lost her vision recently). So we are looking to buy her a new, more appropriate home. Right now she lives far out in the woods away from town and it's hard to get to in the winter. We're looking for somewhere in a community and near medical facilities, where she can be independent yet also close to the treatments she needs.

I highly recommend the Goldengrove Cardigan by Field Flower. Much more beautiful than the photos which inexplicably obscure the stunning embroidery, French knots, and beading with crossed arms and other distracting poses. If I had not first seen it in the store, I might have passed it by. The color is more subdued, less gold than the pics. It is very, very soft and runs a little large. Read the reviews – lots of "Old Anthro" comments.

It's tucked into a jingle bell this year. My mom and I both for $25 off $150. You can only use it through December 8th….so not that fabulous!
Like mentioned below everyone in line at cadhvwrap gets a jungle bell with a small note tucked inside- each note had a saying and each saying correlated to a specific “ gift”. Mine was a postcard to download their Anthro wallpaper ?. I guess others were $ off, etc. I’m not complaining because I’ve got measuring spoons and letter openers in years past! Congrats to those who got something decent!

This was the first year in a while that I did not visit Anthropologie on black Friday. I did stop by today, but not much worth purchasing so I left with a $7 tee and that is all. There was one sweater I wanted online, but it was sold out in my size before the promo. (Fitted, reasonably priced, online only, sweaters seem to sell out fast)
I did visit Madewell right before Thanksgiving and I had much better luck with some cozy sweaters. Nothing at J Crew either. This is great for my wallet, but it seems so strange that the stores have nothing flattering this season.

I did end up doing some shopping at Anthro for this promotion, but far far less than in past years. My spend with Anthro this year is much lower than last year which was much much lower than in previous years.
