Quick morning update: Anthropologie offers up 4 new promos!

This post contains affiliate links. Please read this blog’s disclosure post for more info.

As I figured they would Anthropologie has launched a new promo for the mid-month weekend this weekend. What I did not foresee is there’s not just one new promotion, there are five!

This weekend at Anthropologie you can…

  1. take 25% off full-price dresses and jumpsuits
  2. take 20% off select full-price tops, sweaters and jackets
  3. take 15% off full-price bottoms
  4. take 25% hosting essentials
  5. and in an unadvertised promo, take 20% off select sneakers

That’s a whole lot of deal-making! There is no code required for any of these promotions — they all apply in your cart at checkout. It might all be a bit too complicated for me — it’s hard to keep track of all the different tiers of discounts in-store, but at least online things are pretty clear in your cart.

I’ve done a bunch of rounding up of Anthropologie’s latest recently and will link to those posts at the bottom of this one, but here are a few quick picks. Topping this post, I was pleasantly surprised by the Layered Lacework Dress ($168 + 25% off) in-store. Although it is slightly boxy (sigh) it sits on the body very cutely! Make sure to wear black undergarments — it’s sheer. Looks great with a blazer or long coat over it, or a moto jacket.

Orla Kiely has the prettiest dress at Anthropologie right now, the Greta V-Neck Jacquard Dress ($300 + 25% off). It rivals the Lillian Column Dress ($658 + 25% off) and the Nobility Dress ($658 + 25% off), other cases where the 25% off goes a long way! If you’re looking to use the promo discount towards pricier investments be sure to check out the dress offerings from Anna Sui, Shoshanna and Black Halo too.

With a bit of digging you can find work-ready pieces like the Velvet Burnout Wrap Dress ($158 + 25% off). I’ve rounded up some more goodies like this one in the posts linked at the end of this post.

Over in tops, my enjoyment of embroidery continues with the Embroidered Plaid Buttondown ($88 + 20% off).

Here are some more of my favorite embroidered pieces at Anthropologie that should be included in this promotion (check in your cart to see for sure):

Comfortable, fringey yet sleek, I’m planning to try on and, if I like the fit, purchase the Timshel Fringed Cardigan ($299 + 20% off). I actually really enjoy this whole outfit which also features the Painted Pebble Drop Earrings ($98), V-Neck Cami ($58 + 20% off), these Pilcro Mid-Rise Skinny Ankle Jeans ($128 + 15% off) and the Bisue Ballerinas Square-Toe Floral Ballet Flats ($118), which are sold out in this red color so instead I’d recommend either the Pom-Trimmed Ballet Flats ($128) by Farylrobin or the Repetto Cendrillon Burgundy Ballet Flats ($338).

Either of those red flat options would also go well with the beautiful Tracy Reese Silk Floral Skirt ($298 + 15% off, above) which also comes in a medallion pattern. Love the longer length of this skirt!

While you can find the Spanx Faux Leather Leggings ($98 + 15% off) elsewhere, the promo discount is certainly nice! You’ll want to size up in these as they run small — I take an XL instead of my usual L. The fit is ideal once you do that! The red color is shown here with the Superga Printed Velvet Sneakers ($78) which are sadly excluded from the sneaker promo, the Hammered Hoop Earrings ($42) and a sweater that I can’t find online — the Cortina Eyelash Pullover ($118 + 20% off) and the Eyelash V-Neck Pullover ($118 + 20% off) are both very similar.

Happy Promo Shopping everyone!

Does anyone have the velvet burnout dress and can comment on sizing? I am going to a wedding in December and am thinking maybe I could make this dress work for it..? But I can't figure out what color shoes I should get…. Help please!! =)

Hi dana, hoping others will chime in too here — but for me, I found the dress was narrow over the hips even with the wrap style, so rather than my usual size medium I found I felt better in a large.

I received it today. I am a true size 8 and a MP is true to size with a tiny glitch. So the cami fits really well, the arms fit well. There is a tiny white button inside which doesn't quite stretch up to the buttonhole. Everything else makes me think its true to size; I will be changing the placement of the button and that should fix it. Going up a size for me will be too big.

A recent purchase that I love is the Aleah dress. It looks so much better in person. Online I skipped by it.

I like that I am seeing more long sleeve options for fall and am contemplating the velvet wrap dress you mentioned above or the corps de ballet dress in the new red color

I'm going to get the Rosie Long Kimono.
    https://www.anthropologie.com/shop/rosie-long-kim

I don't like how it's styled online (and thus never paid attention to it), but I saw a SA floating around the store with it over skinny blank pants and a simple tank, and it looked adorable!

What's on sale: dresses, tops, bottoms, sneakers

What's on my wishlist: boots, bags, jewelry, accessories

I'll be sitting this one out, methinks.

    • October 12, 2017 / 4:37 pm

      Hee! Well said.

I really want to try the Elena dress in the Green color way. I typically love Tracy Reese! Fingers crossed that it's flattering and doesn't end up looking like a cheap bedspread.?

Good timing on this promotion because I need serveware for Thanksgiving and there is a nice brown 3-piece set, Laurentide that I like. The long piece appears to be sold out, at least online.

I haven't been pleased with the offerings from the past year- we'll see how things work out.

Crossing my fingers that the promo stuff you like works out well this time Melodie.

Two pretty picks! What do you think of the Avian Kimono Midi Dress?

I know I’ve said it before but I’m buying nothing. These 15-25% promos do not entice me. Plus I’m in the middle of losing weight and finding things in my closet that are fitting again so it’s like going shopping for free!

I finally ordered a number of things online and from another store and all went back except one of the skirts (technically I had to order it in another size), so will need to call for a PA!.

When I went to my home store (5th and 16th, NYC), I noticed that
A)- They are adding more clothes (one section in the back corner used to be beauty and homewares is now back to being mostly clothes (yay!!) and
B)- there are a lot of clothes that are not online (including a new skirt by Maeve that is a long, straight pencil skirt with clear sequins over multicolor lace stripes (name on receipt is OB Striped sequin pencil skirt) and a new dress by Hemant & Nandita which is a heavy cotton "kimono" style dress with an off center zipper and velvet flowers on the top. There are other items as well that is in the store but not online so I am wondering if there is going to be an "explosion" of new items hitting in the upcoming November look ahead feature.

On a side note, one of my biggest website grips is the "Pick up in store" functionality. Is it me or does anyone get results when checking a store? I swear anytime I look for something (not online only), no local stores have it….

Speaking of online only items, I have a suggestion for Anthro's social team (esp Instagram), any chance you can create a "Home Office Personal Stylist" account and have people model (and style) some of the online only clothes??? Pretty please?? I CRAVE STYLING SUGGESTIONS!!! I get there are online photos, but the styling is so hit or miss (and very boring) (as mentioned in some of the above comments), that I swear you are losing out. it is one thing to make an appointment, and work with in-store options, but now a days, in store options are geared toward holiday not everyday.

    • October 12, 2017 / 8:34 pm

Oh yay that makes me so excited about the 5th Ave Anthro! I thought they'd ceded way too much floor space to beauty and home.

    • October 13, 2017 / 9:01 am

      That is pretty and cute!

I did see a pair of faux leather elastic-waisted black pants almost a month ago in the KOP store by the Anthropologie brand that are not online yet. $98.

    • October 13, 2017 / 9:01 am

They're not the Spanx leggings I linked in the post? They're in-house Anthropologie?

      • Stefanie
        October 15, 2017 / 8:18 am

No. I took them off the rack to inspect. Like a vegan leather pant with a narrowing leg, looked cropped, elastic waist, 2 large square pockets in the back. Side slash pockets. They were def. by anthropologie – not sure if it is the essentials by anthropologie brand but def. anthropologie. I took a pic of the label and pants. They were on a rack with a bunch of super high priced items. I even got a picture of the front of the pant and the price tag. It’s item # 43512136. $98.

        • October 15, 2017 / 9:12 am

          Interesting! They sound kinda wonderful.

I should have tried them on but was on my way out after waiting in line for forever. They could be awesome or horrendous. Looked like they run large too.

I got the splendid waffled cardigan in the last color I did not have (gray – these are my weekend go to cardigan's/jackets) and the surplice long sleeve top in both colors. I know, pretty much staples but nothing else really exciting me (waiting on a dress I did not order last time to pop back but other than that I am shopped out)

    • October 13, 2017 / 9:02 am

Staples never hurt! If Anthro was impressing us more with their stuff overall, we'd be getting more I'd think.

I ordered the Blocked and Striped jacket, the Rolled Cuff Graphic tee in White and the C&S Plaid Tunic dress. I was in store the other day and bought the Mushroom Shirt and the Michael Stars cardi..that I need to get a PA on. I already saw that someone gave one star to the cardi saying the black transfers so that might be going back right away.

    • October 15, 2017 / 9:14 am

Love your pickups klj1. The Blocked & Striped Jacket is on my wishlist too.

  12. October 13, 2017 / 5:12 pm

Yay promos! I tried on the embroidered cadiz blouse last week- they had one left in store- but luckily it was still on the onesies rack today! The embroidery is really well done and takes the mesh top to the next level. I have an idea to improve the sleeves a bit…

    • October 15, 2017 / 9:15 am

Nice thatdarndress! The Embroidered Capiz Blouse is totally you, I imagine it looks lovely on.

The ella embroidered peplum shirt by hd in paris is really cute!

Did you order it Chewy? I agree, it is cute!

        October 15, 2017 / 6:41 pm

I did! Even though it is backordered for two weeks. With petite sizing, you have to order first and think about it later because the sizes go fast! I figure that im more likely going to wear this piece since everything else looks too runway for me

      October 15, 2017 / 11:46 am

I ordered it! It looks really special with the embroidery! Looks a bit throw back Anthro. More pieces like this, please!

I ordered the Printed Silk Maxi dress by Moulinette Souers. I'm hoping the colors are more vibrant in person! On another note, this is OT, but if you're looking for comfortable skinny jeans/jeggings, I second Roxy's recommendation from about two weeks ago for American Eagle's Super Soft x4 jeggings. I ordered two pairs of these jeggings–one in black ( https://www.ae.com/women-aeo-super-soft-x4-jeggin… and the other in dark indigo (https://www.ae.com/women-aeo-super-soft-x4-hi-rise-jegging-dark-indigo/web/s-prod/0326_3026_738?cm=sUS-cUSD&catId=cat20116&pup_e=517&pup_cid=20796&pup_id=0026297788&cid=aeo_aff_1909792&SID=2727136315), and they are super comfortable! They look like denim, but they feel like comfy sweatpants. They're pretty amazing!

    • October 15, 2017 / 9:17 am

Oh yay!! I'm so glad the AE jeans worked out for you, I couldn't agree more about the softness.

With the promos ending today, I'm guessing there will be markdowns tomorrow! Remember when we used to play The Sale Guessing Game? 😉 Hopefully Anthro will start once again giving us great stuff to fan enthusiasm for playing! I did order the Embroidered Cadiz Top with this promo and The Carey Blazer Cardigan with the survey promo.

It looks like a few new items added to sale, very minimal though. I recommend Allegra blouse. I wish I liked more at Anthro these days but neither sale nor %off FP promos are tempting. I feel as if I could get much of this clothing at much cheaper trendy stores. (I do like the velvet burnout wrap dress, though – very pretty in person).

A little late, but what do you all think about the Leather Wrap Jacket by Just Female, in the tan colorway? I have never bought a leather jacket; something about them never seemed right on me. Do you think it could be worn for years, or is it going to look dated? https://www.anthropologie.com/shop/leather-wrap-j

    • Anthropolitan
      October 17, 2017 / 3:34 pm

I think it's cute, but it definitely has a retro 70's vibe to it, and I honestly think it will date faster than a more classic leather jacket style.

I went to the store and bought a couple of $9.95 and $19.95 items. But there were a few which I won't buy for even $9.95 :(:(:( people are buying certain things just coz its $9.95 but there are a couple of things which I don't know will be ever sold. A SAD TRUTH ANTHRO.

I fell in love with Eri + Ali ornate embroidery top. It is so pretty. (Roxy u can change the link)

I think the Ornate Embroidery Top looks better IRL – the colors are a little more subdued than online, which I think gives it a lovely vintage appeal. I also found it flattering.
