UPDATE: Anthropologie’s sale is now an extra 40% off!!

Anthropologie has updated its sale section with fresh cuts this morning! The extra percent off sale disappeared (boo!) but is surely coming back. With that in mind, what sale items are worth taking a look at now? Let’s review.

It’s not new to sale but the Knotted Cutout Dress (now $50, above in grey) is the best dress in the sale section at the moment. Now at 2nd cut pricing it’s become a steal! The similar Arden Knit Dress (now $70) is another great choice. They’re joined in sale by pretty options like the Cynara Midi Dress (now $100), a black-based dress with a tiny floral print that looks like confetti. The Cynara hits below the knee and has a flattering v-neck too. On the trendier side I’m liking the Plaid Slip Dress (now $110), which combines a sleek shape with a cool print and high layering potential.

If you’re looking for some extra versatility, both the Osuna Wrap Tunic (now $50) and the Wrapped Shirtdress (now $90) work as either tunics or dresses.

It may not look ultra-special online, but the Ruffled Sweater Top (now $50, above) is a great little top with slightly belled sleeves that comes in four extra sweet colors. A bit on the short side, I like how it looks with high rise skirts and jeans. It’s shown here with a sold out skirt and this clutch, also on sale. No mention of the sandals on the product page, but this pair is very similar (and full price).

The very cute Waverly Garden Skirt (now $100) made it to sale today, much to my surprise. But then again maybe I’m not so surprised with Anthropologie’s uninspired styling of it. (Though if you really like the cami shown here, it’s on sale for $10 and still online in the much more appealing coral color!)

Instead, I’d encourage you to pair it — oh I don’t know — a sweater with slight bell sleeves for a proportion play in pink, a one-shoulder sweater in any of the colors it comes in (it’s cute! I promise), a classic contrast-ribbon-stitch cardi in blue or pink, or perhaps a ballet-wrap sweater that speaks well to the zeitgeist of the skirt?

You’ll find some nice basics new to sale too, like the Vintage Modern Tank (now $20, above) which comes in both striped and solid versions. The Lakeside Tee (now $30) is another classic, timeless piece which doesn’t really belong at Anthro to me…but since it’s here, on sale and cute, I’ll mention it anyway.

Other new sale surprises for me include the Pearl-Embellished Sweatshirt (now $50) which is admittedly oversized, huge and boxy yet still works and the Pintucked Lace Tunic (now $60), a long lace-inset tunic that’s a Featherbone delight.

Below, more picks from Fresh and recent cuts — be sure to check your carts as items received 2nd/3rd/etc cuts this morning! Once you’re done with sale you can check out my picks from Anthropologie’s newest arrivals in this morning’s post.

I am looking forward to the skirt, too. I purchased the pink one a while back, but it was s little see through and a more of a summer color, so I returned it. Hoping the navy one will work out for me.

A dress I've been waiting for hit sale but without a percent off, I am not inclined to purchase ?

I hear you. I have been making my sale purchases when they hit sale if I worry it might sell out before or when a % off promo happens, but otherwise I agree there's no reason to rush.

I have purchased the Vintage Modern Tank in 4 colors. The fit is fantastic, however two of them have developed those small/annoying holes within 2 months. I returned 1 and need to take the other back.
Another great item is the Siya Dress. I purchased it after seeing it on a friend (who paid full price). It sticks out on my hips a little, but will take it to the tailor for alterations.

Holes in tops are super annoying!! I remember when J. Crew went through that phase — lame that Anthro is now suffering through it. Yay on the Siya Dress!!!

JCrew is still going through that phase. All t-shirts (3) I've bought from them this summer already have holes. One of them developed holes before the first wash. I'm afraid to buy another t-shirt from them.

You know. This is super annoying to me too. I have had this happen to the less expensive cotton tops and decided to try the Wilt ruffle tees this summer. Same thing. I thought that the quality might help so this doesn't happen but I guess not. What's up with this happening all the time?( Anthro,J Crew)I feel guilty for taking them back after all summer..the holes started soon after I got them (and I haven't yet) but geesh..shouldn't we expect better or am I crazy. I take really good care of my tops when washing too so its not that.
The Hole Phenomenon is super annoying and a waste of money.

This is not a sale item, but I recently purchased the Janine Embroidered Dress. My size is running out, so I decided to make the purchase. It is such a beautiful dress:) I am so happy with it.

Any chance there will be an Anthro day soon? There's a necklace in the catalog that I want but I don't see it online yet.
