Madewell seems to be winning at retailing this year! They’re one of the few stores with infrequent promotions and clothing that seems to get glowing reviews from its customers. So when they do throw us a bone it’s super sweet!!

Right now you can take 20% off your $100+ purchase and/or 30% off your $200+ Madewell purchase. It’s a wonderfully-timed promo (with some exclusions, sad) you get with code YESANDYES online. It’s valid in-store too. You can tell if an item is included in the promotion or not because on the product page there will be red text that says “up to 30% off with code YESANDYES” if the item is included.

What impresses and delights me most about Madewell is that they encourage me outside of my style comfort zone without going too far into editorial or unwearable. Though I might not wear the exact combination of the Boxy Turtleneck Top ($40 + up to 30% off), Velvet Ruffle Cami ($85 + up to 30% off), The High-Rise Slim Boyjean: Painter Edition ($135 + up to 30% off), Eye Lariat Necklace ($34 + up to 30% off), Treasure Pendant Necklace Set ($36 + up to 30% off), Shiny Band Ring ($18 + up to 30% off) and The Leia Ballet Flat in Velvet ($108), at least I can appreciate it for the inspiration each piece provides.

Madewell seems to be exploring a lot of color-tone outfits this season, which is helpful for my own outfit assembly. Seeing different expressions of colors as in the look above featuring the Open-Side Bobble Pullover Sweater ($98 + up to 30% off), Velvet Pull-On Pants ($125 + up to 30% off), Wood-Hinge Hoop Earrings ($34 + up to 30% off), The Chain Crossbody Bag ($88 + up to 30% off) and the Vans® Unisex Classic Slip-On Sneakers in Medal Bronze Suede ($55), I know I can put together my own looks with colors that will coordinate with this one. It’s outfit-making made easy!

You’ll find a lot of velvet in Madewell’s Fall new arrivals too, from dresses like the Velvet Bow-Back Tee Dress ($150 + up to 30% off), shown here with the Oversized Jean Jacket in Capstone Wash ($128 + up to 30% off)…

…to sneakers and shoes, like these Madewell x VejaTM Esplar Low Sneakers in Suede ($120).

No promotion would be complete without a spin through Madewell’s bags! I simply adore their Transport collection, and my favorite might have to be The Small Transport Crossbody ($128) shown here. They’re all excluded from the promotion unfortunately…but worth it anyway.

One of Madewell’s new bags for Fall, the The Chain Crossbody Bag (above, $88 + up to 30% off) is included in the promotion, as is the Silk Button-Back Dress in Star Scatter ($148 + up to 30% off) shown with the bag above. I’ve got more bag picks in the boutique at the end of the post!!

Hunting for a soft fuzzy coat for Fall? I’m swooning over the Sherpa Portland Jacket ($150 + up to 30% off).

Below, my picks for Fall from Madewell from dresses worth yeses to shoes that make me swoon. What are you buying with this promo?

So much good stuff here..and glad this just happened. 🙂 I ordered the Tailored tee in black, Chelsea boots, the black loafers, and the Kent Cardigan.

I'm so glad too! Good timing for me. I have a bunch of stuff in my cart but have to narrow it down before I make any purchases.

Me too, a bunch of items in my cart. It's going to be a tough choice.
Thanks for sharing you picks, Roxy!

Fleet Jacket and Slim silk scarf in Seattle floral.

Really like the Turtleneck Cutaway Sweater Vest, but not sure I can layer it over something and have it look good.
I see on the website it's layered under the velvet dress. Looks cute, but not something I want to do. Seems like it would be very bulky.

I love the Fleet Jacket! I have it in two colors at the moment but am getting ready to sell one of the colors — just not enough storage space in my current apartment.

For the Turtleneck Cutaway Sweater Vest, I think it'd look really cute with a denim skirt. And then for layering it over something…how about layering it over a mandarin collar shirt, or a halter dress?

Oh! Thanks for the great ideas, Roxy. Now I need to find a mandarin collar shirt. I'm also going to look at my dresses and see if I have something that might work. Thanks again!!

I've been eying the Fleet Jacket since last year. I think this is the year for me to own one.

I like the velvet pants too, which is pretty shocking for me! I tried them on and they are very comfy plus a great length for wearing with heels.

Good thing several items I want are sold out in my size ?
    Great picks thanks Roxy

Sometimes that is a blessing in disguise, lol. My biggest choice is between things that are trendier vs more classic, and where I want to be with my closet.

Bummed it didn't include denim. I love the Cali bootcut jeans so much and just picked up a pair. I'm wondering if they will stretch out a little in the waist because they are a little tight right now but the thighs were too loose a size up. Anyone have any experience on these? I bought the black. Also picked up the Walker and Lanna mule. I wasn't sure about the mule trend, but I think they are amping up my style! Roxy – what's your take on mules? My only reservation is only being able to wear them a few months before the cold sets in.

    • September 27, 2017 / 1:39 pm

I bought the Cali Bootcut Jeans in white earlier this year — late in the Spring, and yes they definitely loosen up.

I'm not the biggest fan of mules but I do own one pair that I love! I keep them in my office in the winter so I can still wear them there, though I would not wear them out and about.

Thanks Roxy! I think I will just keep my one pair and wear them til the cold weather sets in. I guess I'm mainly a bootie kind of girl but wanted to step outside my comfort zone for a bit. 🙂
