Double your gift card giveback at Neiman Marcus, today only

In the mood for a designer treat? Today only, Neiman Marcus is running a gift card with purchase promotion of up to $300, and up to $600 when you buy both apparel and shoes or a handbag! Use the code SEPTGC at checkout.

The luxury lover in me adores this kind of promotion. I used to always pay full price for designer clothing because it seemed like promotions were so few and far between, and the items I wanted never seemed to get marked down until way past their season. This gift card promo makes it easy to stay on shopping budget by helping me save on items I’d buy anyway over two purchases and pick up the items I’m interested in while they’re still in season!

One designer I’m discovering is Maggie Marilyn. Above you see her Know Your Power Button-Front Wool Blazer ($930), Revolution Striped Trumpet-Sleeve Cotton Shirt ($445) and Tiered Ruffled Striped Cotton Mini Skirt ($555). I’m completely head over heels for this look for work! I love ruffles but they can easily be overdone; here I feel that they’re a subtle feminine accent rather than a huge attention grab. While the photo above doesn’t show it, the trumpet sleeves of the blouse can also be worn below the hemline of the blazer for a fun proportion play. Just below, you can see the outfit styled that way.

Here are a few more looks from the brand that I’m loving! On the left is another view of the outfit topping the post. In the middle, the same Tiered Ruffled Striped Cotton Mini Skirt ($555) is paired with the Warmest Light Long-Sleeve Button-Front Poplin Shirt ($515). I just love the bands poplin creating a beautiful fit detail on that shirt! The You Can Change The World Striped Button-Front Poplin Shirt ($530) also has charming details that elevate it beyond a basic button-down. On the right above, the gorgeous Don’t Underestimate Me Silk Satin Midi Slip Dress ($565) becomes work-ready thanks to pairing it with the same-toned Hold On To Your Own Boyfriend V-Neck Wool Sweater ($565).

These beautiful outfit combinations certainly perk up heading to work in the morning! I’d also recommend cruising through other brand favorites of mine like Theory, Tory Burch, Joie, Vince, Rag & Bone, Rebecca Minkoff and Rebecca Taylor. I’ve included picks from all of these brands in my boutique at the end of the post.

Another highlight brand for me this season is Diane von Fursternberg, which really seems to be getting back its playful roots! Above, the Long-Sleeve Midi Woven Silk Wrap Dress ($428) aka the Cheetah Wrap Dress is a modern take on a classic print, and a great length to boot. It will look so good peeking out from under a long dress coat! I’m also loving the new wrap dresses, including the Long-Sleeve Collared Check Wrap Dress ($468) and the Mixed Dot-Print Jersey Wrap Dress (now $163). There’s also the beautiful colorblocking of the Crewneck Long-Sleeve Flare Knit Midi Dress ($548) and the ready-to-flatter body-skimming Turtleneck Long-Sleeve Knit Intarsia Midi Dress ($498).

Then there are some items that are far outside my budget but still beautiful to look at, namely Calvin Klein’s Quilted & Plaid Double-Breasted Coat in pink and cream ($5,495) and blue and cream ($5,500).

Since the gift card doubles when you buy shoes or handbags, I recommend heading right over to the Stuart Weitzman selection, where beautiful options like the Climbing Velvet Hiker Boot ($585, above) await. An even richer color makes the Lashes Velvet Fringe Bootie ($575) stunning, while the heel is the star of both the Cling Stretch-Velvet Sock Bootie ($575) and the Clarisa Ankle-Strap Block-Heel Pump ($425).

Below, lots of beautiful options for this gift card promo or your following gift card purchase! What designer items are you adoring at this moment?

So I love velvet and I'm so excited about all the velvet stuff this Fall, and this post has so many cute velvet things. Those Stuart Weitzman velvet military boots are in my cart now.

Me too! Velvet was last in when I was just a little kid, very excited to wear the softest velvet-silk mixes this cold weather season.

Oh that I could afford those gorgeous Calvin Klein coats! They have me drooling. I might console myself with one of those DVF dresses. Love a good wrap dress.

Right there with you! 5 rent payments, or a Calvin Klein coat? For a moment, it's a tough decision. ?
