Summer just got more fun at Madewell

Still hunting for summer clothing goodies. I am too! Which is why I’m quite delighted to report that Madewell has taken new markdowns, and made all of its sale an extra 30% off with the code THINKBIG.

My boyfriend likes to make fun of me for wearing sweater tanks in the high heat of summer and I’ll admit it’s weird…it’s also all Madewell’s fault! They have seriously cute sweater tanks like the Valley Sweater Tank (now $30 + 30% off, also in stripe) or the Side-Tie Sweater Tank (now $40 + 30% off) that will transition well to Fall and look adorable on.

Of course this sale does have stuff in it that’s actually practical for Summer too. Like the cute and comfy Triangle Jacquard Shift Dress (now $100 + 30% off, above), one of many dresses I’ve loved at Madewell this warm weather season. Other cute dresses to hit sale recently include the Embroidered Jardin Midi Dress (now $60 + 30% off), the Embroidered Primrose Dress (now $100 + 30% off) and the Eyelet Cold-Shoulder Dress (now $60 + 30% off) among many, many cute choices.

One weird thing about Madewell is that their items sometimes look, well, ugly on their website. I have no idea why but this is especially true in their tops section. So you may have to trust me when I say that the Silk Lily Ruffle Top in Echo Grid (now $50 + 30% off) is about 1000 times cuter in real life.

Ditto their bags, where the real color doesn’t show well online. A great example of this is the Whipstitch Saddlebag (now $100 + 30% off, above) which looks downright peachy or orangey online but is actually a beautiful tan color in real life. (This post has several examples of it.)

A lot of the sale items are selling out quickly which is to be expected. If you live near a Madewell store I highly recommend visiting as my stores (NYC) have a lot more selection than online does! You can see some of the sale items on me or in mannequin form — just search the Madewell tag on this blog.

Below, more awesome sale picks from Madewell. Happy Sale Shopping everyone!

I just wanted to say that the Mockneck swingy tank dress at Madewell is a good one. Its fitted up top too. Material is really nice. It fits similar to the Maeve dresses that came out last year(can't remember the name but I have a couple and Roxy, you have one too) I tried the XS and S ( I have the XS's in the Maeve one) I bought the S. XS was ever so slightly butt grabby..otherwise not a ton of difference.

      Thanks for the recommendation klj1!

FYI OT but I made my way to a Free People store yesterday and their sale is not only an additional 40% off (not 30% off like online ) but prices are way lower on many items than online! I got the Georgia peach striped tee for $11.97, the butterfly one shoulder dress for $41 and the hot to trot black tank for $27! A grand total of $72 for all 3 items. And my store ( KOP PA was loaded with goodies all over the store-I wish I had more time to dig bc it was quite messy but I'm sure there's tons of steals to be had!

And PS my Madewell Embroidered Primrose dress came yesterday and I wore it last night. Love that it's mostly cotton and can't wait to wear it again!

Wow! My FP was 30% off in-store. I've found it works both ways — sometimes item prices are lower in-store, sometimes online. And most times they are the same in both places.

Yay on the dress! So glad it worked for you. 🙂

I just placed a Madewell order for some Fall items that appeared online today. It's weird because the preorder link was sent out around July 12th and normally it takes MONTHS for those items to appear for general sale. But it worked out for me because I was sitting in a 15% coupon hehe. Anyway some pretty good early Fall items to choose from!

I love Madewell lately! I bought the cutest black dress with a ruffle at the top and it's a perfect fit, very pleased with it.

Off topic but I'm also loving all the new boots at Anthro at the moment and purchased the Splendid Dasha Boots in my usual six and a half and they're perfect and very comfortable. Also, they're a great height, not too tall or low, just right. I wish they also came in a burgundy/wine color:)

OT but just got an email on the August pre-shop from Anthro. Many items seem really promising.

I'm already in love with a couple of dresses from the pre=shop especially the Madrid Wrap dress and the Velvet Swing dress. For anyone interested in the Ynez Tunic, it gorgeous in person and runs TTS. It'll look so cute paired with a jean jacket and boots in the Fall but right now looks adorable with sandals.

Fun! I will make a post for it, but won't be able to until tomorrow.

In the meantime if you want to cruise here's an affiliate link to the pre-shop: http://bit.ly/2tKSDo0 for those that didn't get the email.

The Lia Embellished Tank is quite pretty!
