LOFT launches a 40% off weekend

Attention, attention! On the hunt for casual chic clothing at a steal of a deal? Want to know which store has been impressing me with their ideal mix of trendy, timeless and easy-to-wear items for work, weekend and my upcoming friend’s wedding weekend? It is LOFT that’s stealing my shopping heart and this weekend LOFT is offering 40% off nearly everything.

I go back and forth between loving loft and being disappointed by their styles (mostly when the fabrics skew too cheap to look decent) but right now they are totally nailing it. Cute pairings like the Chambray Embroidered Flutter Top ($55 + 40% off) and the Dolphin Hem Denim Shorts ($55 + 40% off), both above, are simply the beginning of all the good and cute to come in this post!  If you haven’t looked at LOFT in awhile, or never given it a try, now is the ideal time!

One area I’ve always been able to count on at LOFT is shorts. My thighs o’thunder (I say that lovingly!) require ample leg holes and LOFT has a spectacular mix of shorts fit for my body type — especially in the Julie fit — and shorts that work well on my best friend for example, who has much thinner legs. Shorts like the Lemonade Riviera Shorts ($50 + 40% off), shown above with the One Shoulder Top ($45 + 40% off) are perfect for my upcoming trip to Hilton Head, SC and will then work well at home too. LOFT has tons of pretty patterned shorts, like the longer Embroidered Eyelet Riviera Shorts ($60 + 40% off) which I adore in both colors, the Embroidered Stripe Riviera Shorts with 4 Inch Inseam ($60 + 40% off) and the Drawstring Jacquard Riviera Shorts ($50 + 40% off), the last of which run extra small with smaller leg holes. Also adorable and ultra-practical? The solid 4-inch inseamed Riviera Shorts (now $30-$40 + 40% off) which come in tons of great colors.

I am generally a 12 or L in LOFT’s shorts that have zip flies, and a L in the drawstring looser shorts.

LOFT has also done very well by me this year with their interpretations of trends. The flutter sleeve, for example is mostly found in ridiculous and unwearable proportions, but LOFT nailed it with their Striped Petal Sleeve Clean Tee (now $55 + 40% off, above). Though boxy, the top sits perfectly on my body in my usual size medium and looks amazing with cropped pants or shorts.

They’ve nailed the tie-halter cami in the Daydream Cami ($60 + 40% off) which is perfection in its pale blue color and soft white ties. It runs large and has a swingy, pleasing shape for summer. LOFT also did very well with the tie-back top in the Striped Tie Back Shell ($45 + 40% off); it’s a great budget option though my favorite overall can be found at Madewell. (More on Madewell next week!)

While I know y’all are sick of off-the-shoulder options, LOFT has two I couldn’t resist in the Diamond Embroidered Off-The-Shoulder Top ($50 + 40% off) that can also be worn up on the shoulders like a regular tee, and the Striped Pom Pom Off The Shoulder Top ($50 + 40% off) which I loooooooooove more than words can say! I took a medium in both of these.

The designers are LOFT are very smart! I can tell because while many retailers are ruffling to the max, making proportions outlandish, LOFT has instead chosen smart spots for the ruffle like the back-shoulders in its Ruffle Back Shell ($45 + 40% off), above; the halter straps on the Olé Swing Top ($55 + 40% off) and the back of the Striped Tiered Back Top ($50 + 40% off).

I’ve also been pleased that LOFT has really soft tees this Spring — I’ve especially adored the Stripe Relaxed Tank ($23 + 40% off), the Flor Soft Vintage Tee ($30 + 40% off) and the Delicate Vine Vintage Soft Tee ($30 + 40% off), both of which run large and I took a small instead of my usual medium in. Please note that on the later top the colors are not colorfast so you’ll want to wash it in cold water so the colors don’t bleed. For more info on how to care for these types of items check out my laundry guide! My favorite soft top at LOFT has to be the glorious in color, feel and shape Paisley Vintage Soft Racerback Tank ($20 + 40% off).

LOFT makes it very easy to put together outfits, something I appreciate ever more these days as time seems to slip by faster than I can master. How adorable is this simple and cute outfit above? It features the Safari Shorts (now $40-$50 + 40% off), the Vintage Soft Racerback Tank ($17 + 40% off) and the Twill Utility Jacket ($108 + 40% off). This look could also easily be topped with the Utility Vest ($80 + 40% off) which was a total surprise winner for me.

I’ve got a couple more quick and lovely outfit ideas below.

Above we have the Halter Sweater ($45 + 40% off) which comes in three amazing colors (the warm sunflower is WOW!!) with the Denim Utility Shorts in Rinse Wash ($60 + 40% off). I took a medium in the sweater tank and a 32 in the shorts (the leg holes are really small!). I also adore the similar-fitting Patch Pocket Denim Shorts in White ($55 + 40% off) for their soft white color and tan stitching, which I also took a 32 in. I wear those shorts with the Floral Ruffle Shoulder Shell ($55 + 40 % off, size M).

This cute date look features the Relaxed Tank ($23 + 40% off) with the Embroidered Cotton Linen Skirt (now $65 + 40% off). Skirts are another area where I can always count on LOFT; though they have some minis that are too short for me they also have an excellent assortment of work-appropriate skirts like the Pull-On Flippy Skirt ($60 + 40% off, also in tall YAY!), fun casual skirts like the Tapestry Drawstring Skirt ($60 + 40% off) and party-ready skirts like the Boho Shift Skirt ($65 + 40% off).

If there’s one promo to go nuts for this late Spring, this is the one that gets my vote! I’ve had so many shopping wins at LOFT recently and now you lucky ducks can take 40% off stuff I love with the code NEWNOW. I barely even mentioned dresses! The Sombra Swing Dress ($80 + 40% off) is a lightweight favorite of mine. More dresses + lots of LOFT favorites below. What have your LOFT wins included lately?

I had a very good time looking but in real life could not commit to buying. Nothing I could not live without. Loved the black & white striped dress you showed but in reality it looked like prison wear. If the stripes had been thinner it would have been a winner. But in real life no deal. It's ok, I have more stuff than I can reasonably wear.

I'll keep it till then. But if you hadn't prompted me…

Loft is the magic place to go for shorts. Whenever my daughter or I need them, we take a trip to Loft and never come home empty handed.

That floppy straw hat is way cute. 🙂

It is pretty magical these days for sure!
