For days that start off chilly with potential to get warmer, a lovely lavender makes the leather moto jacket a softer outfit topper…
Ever have those days where you look into your closet, and although you just know that there are 50 good outfits in there, you find yourself wishing for something new? I wonder if that is why I like to buy new clothing so much — a short-term memory device of sorts where I know that outfit I bought a few days ago is going to feel fresh and lovely? What do you think? Do you often find yourself stumped by your closet and heading out for new too?
April finds me wishing that the weather was just a bit warmer so I can wear all the pretty colors in my closet. This Rebecca Taylor moto jacket in the most beautiful lavender is the perfect compromise — I can be in soft and feminine colors yet still stay warm. Though my hair was getting tossed about by the wind, I was nice and comfy thanks to the moto jacket! I also love the smaller lapel which adds to that delicate look and feel.
Paired with a dress in the softest chambray and the only way I’d ever wear paint splatter (the clutch), this outfit is one that makes me smile. And the dress is 25% off right now! What items in your closet make you smile?
Roxy,
Have you tried the Meg scallop tank? It looks cute, but has one terrible review. I wish my store had this to try on.
Author
I haven't — none of the NYC Anthropologies had it in-stock. But based on the reviews I sized down to see if that will give me a better fit. I'm expecting it to be boxy and short to wear with skirts rather than pants.
Thanks. I hope my store will get this in eventually. I love the red.
Looking at all the reviews for the Paulina scalloped top, which is the same brand and fabric, make me hesitant to buy this new scalloped tank. Everyone states that it shrinks when washed according to direction. The new tank is dry clean only. I guess that is how they deal with the complaints of the top shrinking so badly. Anyway, just an observation and perhaps a warning not to wash this one.

I see that on a lot of Anthro reviews and I think people just don't know how to wash clothes anymore. Myself included — until after college I had no idea how to wash my own clothing correctly!
These days I can wash just about anything and preserve it. It's possible that these ladies are washing experts and the shirt does in fact shrink, but in my experience when I wash things on cold, tug them gently into shape after washing and then air dry and steam they wash just fine. 🙂
I agree, I rarely dry clean, as most items can be hand washed. You just have to know the fabric you are dealing with. Thanks for the input.
I have it in black. I bought it in XS..I'm between that and S(probably could have gotten away with the S too). I have the Paulina in both colors and bought those in S. Its not too boxy…its on the shorter side too but still goes well past my hips.(I'm 5'3)
I have a question – has anyone had any luck using a birthday discount a friend gave them? I used my October one, and a friend just gave me her's for March. I don't want my order to get cancelled!
I used one from my mom a few years ago, so I don't think they would cancel your order.
I wasn't going to order anything this weekend because I'm just not feeling Anthro lately, but at the last minute I ordered the Striped & Ruched Top and the Open/Shoulder Ruffle Romper by Eleveneses and I'm super excited!
I picked up the Rose Garden boyfriend jeans, the last one in my size, and despite still paying a bit I feel lucky. XD Quite beautiful!
Oh those are gorgeous!
Just curious…what is your monthly shopping/clothing budget? By my calculations, you ordered $883 worth of stuff!
That might be a little too personal if a question… she may have a “larger” budget for fashion, but it also ties in with her job 🙂
That's a rude question.
Also I used to live in NYC and people there generally tend to have bigger shopping budgets including me when I lived and worked there. Now my budget is less along with my lower cost of living where I now live.
I bought the Eclat midi skirt by Maeve in silver. I really love it! But I'm also looking for a few styling ideas and wondering if anyone in the community has it and could give me some ideas? The shine is a bit out of my comfort zone so I will most likely dress it down but any ideas for fun tops or shoes would be greatly appreciated!
It looks great with the Starland Pullover but that's sold out now. Any slightly oversized tunic-length sweater or maybe a regular tunic length top in a similar color would probably look good.
This vest might also work or a similar vest. I ordered the vest but haven't received it yet. It looks cute with the skirt it's paired with in the product shot, you can try styling your skirt a similar way (also google the skirt name and see if there are any people who took pics of the skirt with different styling options):

Thank you Dina!!
On a whim I ordered the Joe's Icon Embroidered Skinny Jeans and a swimsuit for my daughter. I agree the budget issue is not a question that should be answered but people's spending pattern's are also different. I don't spend weekly but do spend quite a bit at times where there are promo's (and then don't spend again).
I'm posting this again since Macys extended their 30% off sale until tomorrow, but if anyone wants the Sanctuary Alisha Camo Anorak https://www.anthropologie.com/shop/alisha-camo-an… the same jacket is on sale at Macys for 30% off the sale price of $114.99 (with the code “VIP” and $99 minimum for free shipping), so it's $80 there now (only L and XL are left):

Roxy, of all your jackets, that one's my very favorite! Also, the blue really pops paired with the lavender like that, a very cute combo!

Thank you Jess!! ??
I agree with Jess. This is my favorite jacket and it looks so soft and easy to pair with everything. Work it 🙂
Lovely pics Roxy!!! Love ur jacket. Agree with Jess and Lindinha and it looks so well with blue. I have 3 saris in this combo??
U look very cute and pretty ??
Love the jacket, and that you've paired it with both green and blue.

Thanks Anthropolitan!!
I love your whole look! So gorgeous, and that jacket with that dress is stunning. I LOVE the two together!

Thank you so much Jeanine!
Thank you for sharing another great combo, Roxy. The colors are lovely alone and combined, and work perfectly with your coloring. I really like that Spring softness of the lavender combined with the urban feel of leather. Is that dress a bit ombre or is it the lighting?
Author
Thank you so much Eina! It is a solid color, the lighting brings out some of the lighter parts of the wash.
May I ask what lipstick you're wearing? I looks fab!

It's Claudia by NARS!
OT but I JUST got a survey request from Anthro. After I completed I get 20% off !! Here's hoping many of you get the same email 🙂
Yes, i just received it too. I mentioned how I used to shop at Anthro almost exclusively but over the past year or so, 90% of my clothing budget has gone to J Crew. I've been just so underwhelmed by the clothing at Anthro. I told them to bring back the pretty, fitted and feminine styles of several years ago.
me too
I told them that I went from purchasing 90% of my clothing from Anthro to 0%. I also kindly asked them to bring back more “classic” Anthro styles with better quality materials.
I said the same thing.
Me too!
Mine was a home goods survey….
Me too!
same here
I told them to stop being so trendy and bring back the quirky classics. Improve quality and stop raising prices without justification (like raising prices when quality is going down?!) Use more natural fibers, and fewer “online only” items. Or, if they insist on online only items, they need to offer free shipping more. I refuse to pay shipping just to try something on and find out the quality stinks!
i got the survey, too, but i looked on the website and there's nothing i even want to buy, which makes me so sad, so if anyone wants my 20% coupon code, here it is : N224GTB7NFR
looks like everyone got the same coupon code. I have three emails. Got the same code as yours on all three.
So many pretty details! And your leather jacket is perfection.

Thank you Gigi!!! Great to see you lady.
I completed my survey as asked them to plzzzzzzzzz bring old Anthro back.

Oh they must be beautiful Nam! Thank you!

Also, this will get its own post, but Free People…
Yes! I'm lusting after their Garden Party Maxi.
*jaw drop*
Oh Em Gee…wish I hadn't wandered over there just now.
They are living in another world completely unrelated to Anthro or UO. I don't follow them much, is there any discount codes floating around? I see a few items I must have STAT and that's only from quickly looking though new arrivals.
Great look! I never would have thought to pair those colors together. The jacket and clutch are a must.
What an adorable versatile jacket!!! I too would never have paired the blue dress with the jacket! Great look!
Lavender leather is so pretty for spring. I love the style of this jacket. It makes a statement without being too over the top.
It's beautiful. The outfit is simple but also stunning. Love the leather jacket! It's perfect for the weather and it's stylish too. You can combine it with a lot of different outfits.
It's nice to have new outfits especially when we're welcoming the new season. But I find myself shopping less these days. I really like how you styled this outfit. Everything goes so well together.
Everyone wants to wear that new outfit even though the old ones are ok. I love that lavender on you it is great for your style.
That jacket is simply gorgeous! I love the soft color for Spring! Love the little details in your whole outfit too like the pattern on your clutch and your earrings too!
Free shipping today only at Anthro.

I'm working on a post about it, the May Pre-shop and the survey right now. 🙂
I love that lavender jacket – it looks great on you! Your post also reminded me that somewhere in the back of my closet is an awesome pink leather jacket that I haven't worn in years. Maybe it's time to bust it out again 🙂
OMG I love that lavender leather jacket!!! It looks so soft and easy to wear. Some leather jackets are so difficult to wear and make you look stiff
Wow I love this! This would be something new in my wardrobe and perfect for the spring season! so chic!
I love everything about your look. Specially the dress. You have put it all so well together. Looks so good.
