Getting a little bored with winter clothing? Anthropologie is an escape to Spring in its latest Anthro member email — a sneak peek at its Spring accessories.
Thoughts and picks, inside…
Much to my relief, this isn’t quite as crazy as the last Spring preview email we got! In fact there are several items I’m quite excited about, from the pretty purple Penelope Chilvers Lilac Suede Mules ($228) to the Reversible Pleated Leather Tote ($188) which brilliantly features one metallic side and one matte side in several very cool color combinations.
Some of the other items I like include…
1 | Well-mixed patterns combine in the Clare V. Patchworked Prints Pouch ($238).
2 | Comfortable and cute, the Lola Cruz Lace-Up Suede Sandals ($218) look like travel must-haves!
3 | I could imagine bringing home my Farmer’s Market haul in the Saint Germain Tote ($228).
4 | The Maypol Espadrille Sport Sneakers ($158) are the right kind of Anthro quirk.
But then, there is the wrong kind of quirk. Like, what is this??? Whose grandma did we steal these from (no offense to the cool grandmas out there, you know what I mean). Is it 1985 again?? (Not that I remember 1985). Fanny packs? Birkenstocks?? Are we Chico’s now, Anthropologie?
The bipolar fashion disorder continues at Anthro, it seems. You can see all the preview items here. Your thoughts?
Off topic but does anyone have a BhLdn shipping code? thank you!

wtf, a $260 fanny pack…?!?!
Overall I like it, but I'm a sucker for a cute flat mule and anything with pretty floral embellishment. I was looking at Bloomingdales pre-spring and thought it was as uninspiring as Anthro's. My mood is so divergent from where designers seem to be trying to push us. Just give me some pretty feminine flattering clothes and stop overthinking it Anthro!
The 'Ghost' dresses have small, soft shoulder pads and an early 1940s vibe. I think they are very pretty. If only I were at least 3″ taller; the models are 5'10″ or so.
The Ghost dresses are really pretty, definately not the 80's shoulder pads look I remember.
Model wearing the Geo bomber says: Go ahead, laugh, I have a pay check to earn here…
I was a teen in the 80s and I remember my teachers all having the Dynasty size shoulder pads in their blouses. Even then we thought it looked a bit weird.
And with cropped orange wide-legs too. UGH.
Yessssss exactly! It was bad enough the first time around, having lived through the 80's makes it even worse.
I would like the leopard print shoes by Pour La Victoire if they weren't slides. I like a back on my shoes too unless I'm in flip flop/sandal mode. There are a LOT of sporty styles in this offering but I don't really shop Anthro for my 'athleisure' stuff…sorry to mention that awful word 🙂
Mind you, the Stella McCartney X Adidas pairs look pretty nice…but I'd never dream of battering them through a workout…and then I'd simply be dressing to look like I COULD work out at any minute which isn't really my style.
I'm relieved that the newly arrived accessories are actually pretty cute. Added a bunch of shoes and jewelry to my wish list. On the other end of the spectrum are the new clothing arrivals. Wth are you thinking Anthro? Worst selection for any season ever!
Safe, safe …aaaaaaand safe.
Lol…you are all hilarious! 🙂
Looks like when Spring is over, they will have a bursting sale room again by the looks of some of this. :-/
(Oh, and I do own a pr of Gizeh Birkenstocks and wear them out in the summer…love them…however they are not my only mode for shoes and sandals.)
Super disappointed in the direction that Anthro has chosen to go. I still like their home section/candles, but other than that, I'll likely start shopping more at my local boutiques or even Free People. Crazy because 95% of my wardrobe is from Anthro. It has been my go to store since 2010. But they seem to be going more & more down hill with each set of new arrivals. The new spring offerings top the cake. Oh well, it is what it is…
….they have flipping lost it. 128.00 for a thin tee. https://www.anthropologie.com/shop/roxanna-linen-…
WTH?? Why?? That is crazy! Their basic tees are normally around $48-$68, which is still pretty high for a basic tee. But $128?? Yes, they have completely lost their minds!
The price is high, but it's made in the USA.
I agree although Wilt is a non-anthro designer and you will find that tee on other sites at the same price. The fact that they chose to include it in their offerings is the issue I think. If folks want to buy Wilt, there are many sites you can go to.
Thank you so much!
