Monday is Martin Luther King, Jr. observed in the USA and retailers are working to take advantage of the long weekend with some pretty sweet deals! Two of the deals I’m most excited about are happening at Free People, where select items are 50% off through Monday and sale is an extra 40% off. No code required for either promo — discount reflects at checkout.
Inside, picks!
Firstly in the 50% off select items promo beautiful shoe options abound, including the Hyde Wrap Flats ($138 + 50% off, above), as well as the Serena Wedges ($145 + 50% off) which I saw all over Instagram last summer (and perhaps my feet in Costa Rica come March?) and the fantastically metallic Last Dance Ballet Flat ($68 + 50% off). I’m also a big fan of the Imaginary Friend Tunic ($108 + 50% off), which is probably hard to think about wearing right now but will be perfect come Spring and Summer.
Then over in the regular sale section an extra 40% off is available on goodies like:
1 | Let’s talk coats & jackets first. My beloved Leopard Print Fur Coat (now $200 + 40% off) is a great deal with the extra 40% off applied! I often wear a small in FP coats but this one runs small through the shoulders, so it was my usual size medium in this case.
2 | The Suede Trench (now $700 + 40% off) may not be practical for rain per se, but it’s definitely gorgeous in 3 color options.
3 | The Coated Aviator Jacket (now $130 + 40% off) comes in much better on the affordability scale.
4 | Next up, dresses! The Belle Epoch Velvet Maxi Slip (now $90 + 40% off) is my backup opera dress, but it could also be amazing for date night!
5 | The Fran Dress (now $300 + 40% off) is boho with attitude!
6 | The Hot Child Mini Dress (now $70 + 40% off) looks so great over tights and booties.
7 | Not quite a dress, but the Those Little Doves Tunic (now $100 + 40% off) would look great over a slip or mini skirt.
8 | Meanwhile, in shoes, there are lots of pretties on sale! Take the classic Cyndi Block Heel (now $70 + 40% off) for instance.
9 | I also love the Eyes On You Wedge (now $70 + 40% off).
10 | Among the accessories on sale, my favorite is the Venezia Convertible Backpack (now $500 + 40% off).
11 | Although the Bundle Baby Chunky Cowl (now $50 + 40% off) is probably right behind, especially for super cold days!
Have you looked through Free People’s sale recently?

Done, thanks!!
The Serena Wedges are soooooo cute. I have nowhere to wear them to but maybe I should get them “just in case”???
Also Roxy I got my Madewell transport satchel in dark Cabernet…..love the size, shape, leather…..but I feel as it's too dark for me. I actually love the color…but in a smaller bag! Luckily for me Madewell is having a bag promo and the English saddle color is now on sale! Must be meant to be……

Interesting!! The English Saddle is the color I have (I think it's slightly darker IRL) and it's so, so pretty. I think you will love it!!
Contemplating buying the Lacey Velvet Moto Jacket.

(^sorry Roxy for the external link)
I feel like a lot of Free People clothes go for a lot less at 6pm.com or on Macy's web site when they have an additional percent off sale, but this jacket in the washed purple is SO pretty! I think it might have been FreePeople.com exclusives, so I'm gonna get it while the promo is running.
Another option for finding Free People at a discount is nordstromrack.com
Does norstromrack carry any anthro brands? If so, which ones?
I don't think they do.
No, but they do carry some brands that Anthro also sells, like Paige, Jeffrey Campbell, Frye and AG.

No worries, you're welcome to share any links you like in the comments if I haven't already mentioned them in the post!! If you want me to change it to my affiliate link just let me know.
Ugh I'm still waiting for Anthro to join the 50% off sale -_-
I have an off topic question for you Roxy. I am looking for the perfect t-shirt and wondered what kinds you recommend. Particularly I like a softer white look but not too ivory though I also love a great grey and black color. Sometimes the bright whites are just too stark for me. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi Carrie, I'm traveling this weekend but will answer on Tuesday!
I just got an email from Anthro that says the 40% sale ends “soon.”
I got that too, so what does soon mean? I would think it will last at least through Monday.
Heather, I own the brown ones. I'm 5'4″ and leggy. They don't look so much like fishing boots on me like a lot of other OTK boots do. They are slim through the leg. You can't fold them over because the leather lining is a funny color, and it just looks odd. The color is gorgeous and rich; a light congnac brown. HTH!
Thank you! I'm giving them a try…
Everything in my store is 50% off now
lucky u :):) evb
I had no money so I just wandered the store thinking I want this, I want that…but it's all good 🙂
I have a one time $20 off code for Garnet Hill. Valid on full price purchases over $100 before Feb 15th if someone wants it. Email me at dna1212@juno.com. US only and there's a few of the usual exclusions.
I just called my store, it's still 40% off.
Is anyone else having difficulty getting the FP sale section to ring up as an extra 40% off at checkout?
Yay! Hope you like them!
Newport Beach was still at 40% as of yesterday.
Have you been there today? That's my store and South Coast which was 40% on Thursday
Hi all,
What is the dress with these boots and does anyone own it? How does it fit?
https://www.anthropologie.com/shop/farylrobin-sof….
It's the Dear Dots Shift Dress. Never tried it, so don't know how it fits (and the sale price before the 40% off is $250):

Thanks Dina!
Well, guess I'll pass on that one…
The Corona store is closing next week. Furniture and found objects have an additional discount. Is this anyone's home store? Thinking if it's worth heading over.

I know that when the Soho store closed in NYC, they shipped all their clothing out about 1.5 weeks before they closed and all that was left at the end were the furniture objects they'd used as store displays. The store was 90% bare.
Speaking of Soho, apparently Anthro is working to open a new location there…I can only hope more info follows soon, as downtown is SERIOUSLY lacking an Anthropologie right now.

Yay! I saw at least 15 store announcements on Instagram about shifting to extra 50% off sale. I think stores are still mostly so overstocked, Anthro wants to clear as much of that as they can out before they do inventory.
