Inside, some holiday suggestions, some accent ideas, some West Elm recommendations that I already own and love, and my boyfriend and I’s decorating hopes and dreams…
Let’s begin with holiday decor. I’m sure I mention West Elm’s wreaths every year because they are so beautiful! It’s hard to pick just one to buy each year and hang over our door (I use this hook). This year I chose the Magnolia Wheat Wreath ($79) above, though I also love the Fall Safflower Wreath ($79), the Mixed Eucalyptus Wreath ($69), the Red Berries Wreath ($69)…well, I love all of them really! Almost embarrassingly so — I wish I had more doors to hang wreaths from.
Wreaths are just the beginning of West Elm’s cute holiday decor. I also love their cute little ornaments (the Mimi Kirchner Owl Ornaments are my favorites — check out Dad!) and darling touches like the Felt Mistletoe ($8). Unlike many retailers West Elm also has a dedicated Hanukkah section which gets a big thumbs up from me, even if it is woefully small — check out Crate & Barrel too, their Hanukkah section puts this one to shame.
Thinking a bit bigger, perhaps furniture using this promotion? About 4 years ago I decorated my Wall Street apartment in the sky with some West Elm pieces that I still use to this day. The Wood Tiled 3-Drawer Dresser ($799, above) has been a great buy for me. I purchased two and they’ve lived both put together as a 6-drawer dresser, apart in different parts of my living room as storage and these days they are my nightstands on either side of my bed. I’ve yet to decide where they’ll live in our new place but I’m excited to figure it out! The drawers hold a lot of stuff (my vacuum, all my workout gear for example) and make great display pieces too.
I also own and love the Tillary 6-Piece Sectional ($2,096+). It’s been a total workhorse for me, performing as a couch, a movie-watching cuddle spot, and when arranged in a square it makes a great queen-size guest bed! I’ve had some funny experiences where friends don’t realize the back cushions aren’t attached, and tip backwards ever more over time until they finally fall backwards. A bookshelf behind the couch or placing it up against the wall fixes that issue.
One other piece we own and love (in two colors!) is the Organic Brighton Matelasse Duvet Cover + Shams set, which is a great all-seasons bedding set. It goes with any color sheets and adds an instant touch of elegance to our master and guest bedrooms.
These pieces have been great to me, which makes my new place wishlist long…
One frustrating thing about these fabulous West Elm promos is that items tend to sell very quickly. I was so sad to discover that the Audrey Dining Buffet ($1,096) had sold out from under me! We are hoping to use this piece in our living room as the new TV media console/linen storage piece. Then we’d like to use the complementary Audrey Nightstand ($400) in our master bedroom. Crossing my fingers that the buffet comes back into stock!
Some other pieces we like that we’ll have to see what we have space for include the Butler Tray Stand, Tall, Antique Brass ($111-$126), the Oliver Chair ($600-$750), the Hammered Metal Coffee Table, Antique Brass ($500), the Industrial Storage Coffee Table, Small, Raw Mango ($600-$700), the Mid-Century Ceramic Table Lamp ($160) and the Glass Orb Chandelier – Opal ($550).
So much we want! How about you — will you be participating in this delicious West Elm promo?
