An ovation for the Octavia Dress (now $206).

Dresses are always a fine place to start at Boden, and right now I’ve got my eye on this beautiful polka-dotted Octavia Dress (now $206) above. Not only do I love the waist seam (which actually hits at the waist, whocouldhavepredictedsuchathing??), I also love the dramatic length of the skirt which cascades in fabulous soft vertical pleats to just below the knee. It’s just begging for a cardigan, like the Cashmere Crew Cardigan (now $134) perhaps? This dress runs true to size.

Another Boden dress I rave about, the Martha Dress (now $134) is available in two new patterns for Fall that feature a tiny pattern on the bodice, and a bigger version of the same pattern on the skirt. This dress has a super flattering shape and structure to make our silhouette especially streamlined. It’s the kind of work-to-cocktail-hour dress every well-dressed lady deserves to have in her closet. I size up in this dress for my hips, all the way from a 6 to a 10.

One more very flattering Boden dress with a softer fit is the Lucinda Knitted Dress (now $179). This knit dress features a v-neck perfect for framing necklaces, a defined empire waist sash sewn into the dress (the bigger your chest the more empire it will be) and a playful a-line skirt that hits just above the knees on my 5’8″ frame, and will be across the knees for shorter gals. This dress works best on hourglass or pear figures, especially those with regular to narrow shoulders. I find this dress runs true to size, and it will loosen up about 1/2 a size as you wear it. (A washing gets it right back to body hugging!) The Boatneck Ruched Dress (now $125, runs TTS) is another soft knit that’s ultra-flattering on, thanks to subtle ruching. I’m particularly drooling over the charcoal honeycomb spot pattern!

A comfortable and elegant blouse with a cute twist awaits in the Arianna Blouse (now $98).

Boden’s Blouse & Tops selection continues to stock up on delightful options for work and weekend. I’m rather enamored of the Arianna Blouse (now $98, above), which avoids this season’s annoying trend of puffy sleeves. They are loose, but by no means oversized. Likewise, the Zeta Lace Ponte Top (now $80) avoids the issues plaguing many lace tops this Fall (i.e. being unlined in the bodice) and comes in either a classic black or a beautiful emerald green — either of which pairs well with burgundy, like in the Maude Skirt (now $98) or the British Tweed Mini (now $107).

Mad for the Martha Skirt (now $98)!!

Speaking of skirts, how adorable is this outfit above featuring the Martha Skirt (now $98)? (Sweater | Tights | Shoes | Here’s a cute bag too.) Or perhaps swap out the shoes shown here for the amazing oxblood color of the Amber Heel (now $161), and the tan stripe version of the Luxe Shopper (now $233)?
