Time to start thinking about holiday parties with Anthropologie’s November first dibs page.
Shown above, the Annecy Midi Dress ($168, left) and the Celestial Halter Gown ($188).

Maybe it was the day in the mountain hot springs of Gleenwood Springs yesterday…whatever the reason, I’m feeling pretty generous towards Anthropologie today. So while I see that the community was pretty hard on the November First Dibs page yesterday (thanks for keeping each other informed!!!) I’m seeing some holiday looks that are getting me in the mood to feel festive and party.

Let’s examine a few of those first dibs inside, plus talk Free Shipping!

The Lumi Velvet Blazer ($148) is rock star awesome.

Without a doubt my favorite item on the pre-shop page is the Lumi Velvet Blazer ($148), a total jaw-dropper moment for anyone attending a gala, whether worn over a dress or in a more casual deployment as seen above. I am not a big fan of 70s glam or 80s excess styling, but this is one exception where the glam factor is off-the-charts fabulous. This is just one of a few amazing velvet blazers Anthro has right now, like the….oh, actually none of the other velvet blazers are showing up on the site right now, but that’s a story for another post.

The Winterberry Blouse ($118-$128) is a cute and very wearable fall to spring blouse.

Another fave on the page is the Winterberry Blouse ($118-$128), a blouse which has subtly shiny gold dots and a beautiful bordeaux base. I love the idea of wearing it with crops (though not those ugly raw-hem crops Anthropologie) and this top would also look fantastic under a wool tank dress, or a blazer. I have similar feelings about the Japonica Wrap Blouse ($148).

The Annecy Midi Dress ($168), ready for a gathering.

I also like the two sparkly party dresses Anthropologie features on the pre-shop page, the Annecy Midi Dress ($168, above) and the Celestial Halter Gown ($188, shown top of post). Both make me think of Christmas, Hanukkah and New Years’ parties, and the joyful vibe of each. This year seems to be the year of the sparkly party dress and I am happy to oblige this trend!

And that’s the thing, the November and December catalogues have always been about holiday, so less on the practical end and much, much more on the party end. I can forgive Anthro for not having work looks in these two books and instead give in to the thoughts of dancing and celebrating the night away.

Other items I like in the pre-shop include the Marna Kimono Pullover ($118) and the Eclat Midi Skirt ($98), though the latter has been on the site for awhile.

Free Shipping on all of this please!
The Seine Cashmere Pullover ($428), the Choteau Leather Skirt (now $190),

Anthropologie is offering Free Shipping on all orders, today only, with no minimum! Perhaps time to take a look at pretty new arrivals? I’m loving the outfit above, and the similarly cute, soft and ivory Rory Lace Blouse ($248).

I’m also very tempted by some of the new coats, like the Lake Placid Sweater Coat ($198) which looks kind of Lake Placid-y to me I guess but is lovely either way, the Embroidered Foliage Coat ($398), the very cute Dolina Toggled Cape ($628) and the Lelia Peplum Jacket ($178).

What might you get with Free Shipping?
