Can one own too many pairs of shoes? It’s a question I struggle with, limiting myself to the amount of spaces in my hanging shoe caddies and among my boot shapers. After a successful late-summer purge I have several slots available — perfect timing for the Nordstrom Summer Clearance Sale! For while the name of the sale might be summer, there is plenty of cold-weather-ready items to save on, like the Dolce Vita ‘Silas’ Over the Knee Boot ($180, shown in anthracite suede in the far right of the photo above). This boot comes in 4 colors (I’m partial to the acorn suede myself) and runs TTS, with enough room for slightly wider calves to fit without slouching on narrower calves.

Another boot sure to give you plenty of wear is Steve Madden’s Troopa Boot (now $80), shown above in three of the color options. This short military boot looks tough but can be worn so many ways — laceless, laced halfway up as shown above, or laced all the way up. They go well with jeans and leggings but can also work with a fun mini skirt and tights.
Other great boot options included in the sale are the Børn ‘Poly’ Riding Boot (now $180) which come in both regular and wide calf, as does the Sam Edelman ‘Penny’ Boot (now $150). The TOMS ‘Leila’ Embossed Tassel Bootie (now $72) are a great, durable bootie option with cute embossing on the top of the bootie in a lovely light brown. For those searching for a dressier option, the Calvin Klein ‘Clancey’ Over the Knee Boot (now $193) should more than fit the bill.
The selection of sale shoes continues to be delightful among pumps. My top pick is the Sole Society ‘Jenn’ (now $48, above), a beautiful calf-hair d’orsay at an unbeatable price. For another classic, I own the Ivanka Trump ‘Boni’ Pointy Toe Pump (now $55) in several colors, including the black leather now on sale. It runs true to size and is all-day wearable! I recommend breaking them in for an hour around your apartment or home first, as the heel tends to be tight when the shoe first arrives. One more classic is the Söfft ‘Vina’ Pointy Toe Pump (now $70), a kitten heel in snakeskin with subtle coloring.
Among the more trendy shoe markdowns, the Steve Madden ‘Slithur’ Sandal (now $90) is a designer knock-off of a cage sandal you’ve probably seen on various bloggers and celebrities. The Vince Camuto ‘Sandria’ Peep Toe Ghillie Sandal (now $78) is one of the best lace-up sandals I’ve seen and there are many sale colors to choose from!
