Nordstrom Clearance Sale Picks: Coats, Bags & Accessories — FINAL DAY!

Prepare for chilly weather with cute coats like the

Today is the last day of Nordstrom’s Summer Clearance Sale and I’m not done sharing picks yet! In this final post of the sale roundup I’ve dug through pages upon pages of markdowns to find the best of what’s available in coats, bags & accessories, all at yummy sale prices!

is a pretty feature, and the material is very durable.

No one should have to make due without a great coat, and the clearance sale is chock full of options! My favorites range from long and comfy to stylish options to complete a chic look. The Jessica Simpson Hooded Basket Weave Duffle Coat (now $160) above is a good example of both — it’s got a great collar and is otherwise a classic color and durable material that’s sure to draw compliments for many cold seasons to come. Other long and fashionable options include the Larry Levine Water Repellent Quilted Jacket with Faux Fur Trim (now $100 — love the white!), the French Connection Hooded Parka with Faux Fur Trim (now $150) which comes in two easy to style colors, the GUESS Envelope Collar Double Breasted Coat  (now $160, or in navy here) which has an elegant shape that’s day or night ready, the Kensie Single Breasted Ruffle Hem Coat (now $150) with its flared bottom hemline and the Burberry Brit ‘Leightonbury’ Quilted Hooded Jacket (now $450, a real steal for this brand!).

I also quickly wanted to mention a coat that is not on sale but is a perennial favorite of mine! The HalogenĀ® Snap Front Hooded Cape ($159) is a remake of a DKNY cape that I bought 2-3 years ago in grey and wear all winter. I wore it to my very first date with my boyfriend and to this day he still recalls the cape vividly as part of the whole attractive package. So buy this cape and have men fawning all over you! You’ll look great too. Although it has only 3/4 arm coverage, I found it plenty warm even on 20-degree days by wearing it with a warm sweater and long gloves. It’s quite the cocoon.

The Street Level Mini Faux Leather Tassel Bucket Bag (stone now $25, black now $19)
is a great way to try the bucket bag trend inexpensively.

If you’re not ready to think about coats yet I completely understand (though there’s no harm in preparing for the inevitable future!). Perhaps then handbags might be more your focus, and that section of the sale is also full of goodies.

Sometimes I want to dip my toes into a trend without committing to an expensive investment. Enter bags like the Street Level Mini Faux Leather Tassel Bucket Bag (stone now $25, black now $19), which are both a pretty unbeatable price to see how it feels to carry around a bucket bag (which were last fashionable in the early 90s if I recall correctly). Mini-backpacks remind me way too much of middle school to even try, but it’s fun to revisit one trend from my childhood that I actually enjoyed in the bucket bags! One larger bag in the sale I like is the ALLSAINTS ‘Fleur de Lis East/West’ Suede Tote (now $227).

I’m leaning much more towards small bags these days, and adding a tote with them if necessary. The small purses make it so much quicker and easier to run out and grab lunch during the workday, or to quickly join my boyfriend on a coffee run or grocery run on the weekends. Rebecca Minkoff has a trio of really good sale bags right now in the ‘Small Darren’ Leather Messenger Bag (now $177, take a look at this one first to get an idea of how they look sizewise against the body), the ‘Moto’ Satchel (now $200, droooooool) and the ‘Micro Regan’ Satchel (now $135). Then in small, cute and quirky land, enter of course Kate Spade with the ‘Flights of Fancy’ Grapefruit Crossbody Bag (now $139), which if you want to go full quirk would pair exquisitely with the ‘Grapefruit’ iPhone 6 & 6s case (now $27), also from Kate Spade.

Interested in a luxury look at a lower price? The Louise et Cie ‘Fae’ Shoulder Bag (now $209), the Ted Baker London ‘Small Forget Me Not’ Leather Crossbody Bag (now $189) and the MICHAEL Michael Kors ‘Sloan Small’ Crossbody Bag (now $149) all mimic luxury bag designs at a fraction of the price of the real thing.

is here to please.

Sometimes, rather than new clothing all I need are some new accessories to give a look a nice, fresh feel. I love the crispness of the Kate Spade ‘birds on a wire – metro’ leather strap watch, 34mm (now $175) above, and the coordinating Kate Spade Crystal Hinge Bangle (now $36) would make great arm candy too.

There are a couple of other watches in the sale I’m lusting after: the Movado ‘Bold’ Crystal Accent Leather Strap Watch, 36mm (now $330) and the big yet yummy MICHAEL Michael Kors ‘Sawyer’ Leather Strap Watch, 39mm (now $165). Both of these timepieces are elegant, almost bracelet-like!

On the statement piece side, the Panacea Spike Collar Necklace (now $21) is sure to put the exclamation point on any look! I mentioned an outfit styling suggestion for it in the clothing roundup on Friday.

And then for earrings, the sale has two delightful picks in the Kate Spade ‘Trellis Blooms’ Small Stud Earrings (now $59) and the BaubleBar ‘Amazon’ Drop Earrings (now $21). Your ears will surely thank you for such lightweight and pretty adornments!

Ahhhhhh. Three roundups down, closet fully refreshed. You can see my earlier shoes & boots picks and clothing roundups from this sale. Today is the FINAL DAY to shop the Nordstrom Summer Clearance Sale — happy shopping to all!
