10 Things I’m Loving at Banana Republic this morning

Flowers are in bloom everywhere right now, including Banana Republic! It’s second set of Spring arrivals is here and my shopping cart is full of beautiful new pretties. Inside, some of the items that I suddenly wish were sitting in my closet, plus find out how to get 30% off even the newest of new arrivals…

The florals at Banana Republic right now are simply stunning. I actually gasped when I saw the Floral Pintuck Dress ($178) in this photo directly above! Although the tricky length has me thinking I might try on the petite rather than the regular (and at 5’8″ I’m hardly petite) it’s the pretty pleating that has me thinking this dress would be spring perfection, especially with a soft cardigan like the Open-Front Merino Wool Cardigan ($78), which is one of the nicest merino cardigans I can remember finding at a mid-range retailers in a looooonnnnngggg time.

This floral print also comes in a cute top version. Likewise, the equally pretty magnolia print comes in multiple items: the stylish midi dress shown in the photo topping this post; a more universally-flattering cap sleeve dress and  a work-ready pencil skirt to name a few.

Speaking of work, Banana has us covered there too. I’m rather enamored with this Sleeveless Tux Dress ($178), which could easily be worn on its own or over cropped pants. The Windowpane Sleeveless Shift Dress ($138) is an equally modern take on the work dress that would look fantastic with a blazer, cardigan or jacket over it while the soft, feminine lines and colors of the Pintuck Flutter-Sleeve Dress ($128) would be not only a work dress for me but also an everyday dress! (The Perfect Coral color is calling to me…)

If you’re on the hunt for work shoes, the Hedy Slingback Pump ($110-$128) is a comfy low kitten heel that has an ultramodern shape and is all-day comfortable. I own these in the neon violet and get tons of compliments on them each time I wear them!

On the casual side, this cute Flutter Sleeve Top ($50) will go over nearly anything and has just the right amount of ruffles. I adore ruffles. I’m so glad ruffles are back! This top also comes in a sheer striped version (pair it with denim shorts), white, and two prints.

I’m a big fan of this thin-striped casual scoopneck too. It’s the kind of top I live in come summer.

In the shoe department, Banana Republic continues to excel. I’ve purchased four or five pairs of shoes from them over the last six months or so and every pair has made me happy. Potential new additions to my closet include these lovely Calisa Wrap Kitten Heels ($138) shown above with the cute tassel ties, the Bryce Fringe Sandal ($168) and the Delores Feather-Heeled Espadrille ($138).

One of the things I am really loving about Banana Republic right now is that their seasonal collections speak to each other in an ongoing evolution. For example, the colors in their winter collection are echoed or complemented in the spring collection, so as the weather has slowly warmed I’ve been able to pair the garnet colors I bought late last fall with the teals and lavenders of this spring palette. I hope to see this continue into the fall so that the pieces I buy continue to be versatile and mixable!

Now that I’ve shown you some of the new beauties Banana has, wouldn’t it be nice to get them for a little bit less? If you are a Banana Republic cardholder or a Gap family cardholder, right now you can take 30% off your purchase starting tomorrow using the code BRSUMMER. I’m filling up my cart today to prepare!
