LOFT’s cute new April dots, patterns and colors

You guys, I’m falling back in love with LOFT again…

There are a few stores answering my internal burning desire for simple yet cute feminine pieces. LOFT is one of those stores. The deeper into my 30s I get, the less I’m interested in the super-trendy stuff that dominated my closet in my 20s. These days I want versatile and pretty pieces that can be mixed and matched with stuff I already own easily.

I’m excited to hunt these items down (or order them) as soon as the next good promotion comes along. Have you tried on any of these items? What did you think of them?

Right now, LOFT is running several promos…Take 30% off on-duty essentialsselect shorts are 30% off…and Sale is an extra 40% off.

Here are some reviews of items I’ve tried recently at LOFT:
My LOFT sizing: 4 dresses // small/6 tops // 10/30 pants // 12 skirts // 9 shoes; 32″-29″-39″, 32DD, 5’8″

Petaled Side-Shirred Dress ($70) — Just like the dress topping this post, but in a different pattern. I found this dress to be pleasantly body-skimming. It runs a little smaller than other LOFT dresses — I took a medium instead of the small I usually wear here. Hits me across the knees; I wish the scoopneck came down just a tad lower. Great for work!

Laser Cut Floral Flare Dress ($90, purchased, see it on me here) — I purchased this dress in the morning aqua color, which reads as mint to me. This dress is rather adorable on! I love the lasercut eyelets along the neckline and hemline, and the waist seam which keeps this from being a basic rectangle. This dress does not fit like a fit-and-flare on me; it’s more of a shift. I took an 8, which is what I typically wear in shift dresses as a curvy gal but two sizes above the 4 you’ll usually find me in for LOFT dresses. Hits just above my knees. (Note: If you like the color but want a true swingy shift, try this very similar J.Crew Factory Dress.)

Lace-Up Heels ($90, purchased) — I’m so excited about all the block heel options this Spring! I purchased these in the blush color and posted a review on LOFT’s site, which I’ll summarize here: they run true to size, accommodate a narrow foot like mine ok but the strap over the ankle is a little loose; the ‘suede’ is decent for the price and the gold accents on the end of the laces are a nice touch. They are not all day wearable because the footbed isn’t very padded, but I wore them for about 5 hours before my feet started complaining.

Duet Dress ($80) — I think this dress is adorable, and I love the idea of wearing it around town on the weekend with a denim jacket over it. It runs true to LOFT size (a small felt great on me) and works fine on larger chests like mine. I’m waiting for another promo before I buy this one.

Beach Halter Maxi Dress ($70) — Will this fabric pill? That’s my main concern about this maxi dress, which is otherwise wonderful. The wrap-style front and defined waist combined for a very flattering look on — I tried this in the ‘Spanish Almond’ color which looks like a dark copper off my pale skin/dark hair combo. Runs true to size — a small for me. My closet is maxed out on maxis right now, but if I had room this one would be in.
