Let’s take a peek at Boden’s midseason sale

Lying in repose, the natural state of the well-dressed woman.

All’s very quiet right now on the Anthropologie front (we’ll take a look at the April lookbook later today or tomorrow) so my eye is turning some of the other retailers I like to browse, especially when they are having sales! The community has requested a post dedicated to Boden which right now is having a lovely midseason sale, with Spring clothing marked down up to 50%. No code is required for the sale — prices are as marked.

I own a couple of Boden dresses. What I love about this brand is that most of their items come in petite, regular or tall lengths (we talls rejoice!) and they tend to have slightly more modest cuts. Great for work for women in their 30s…or women in their late 20s struggling to straddle that line between trendy young thing and ‘I can’t wear this to work!’.

Inside, items like the pretty Wrap Dress (now $74) above, which is 30-40% off depending on the color you choose…and shipping’s free on orders of $50+ too…

MAGGIE OTTOMAN DRESS
(now $83, Renaissance Blue/Oxygen only)

MARTHA DRESS
(now $104, Navy Placement Floral
or Ivory Placement Floral only)

SQUARE JACQUARD DRESS
(now $83, ivory only)

It can be a little confusing to sort through this wonderful sale, because for many of the items only certain colors are on sale. With the Maggie Ottoman Dress for instance, only the blue stripe version is on sale…while there’s an even lovelier black and ivory version that’s still full price. Luckily, you can take 10% off new items using the code 9U5U at checkout. It’s a little something nice.

In addition to the pretty dresses above, from the sale I’m also liking the Elena Fixed Wrap Dress (now $70, printed versions only). Several full-price styles caught my eye too, including the lovely St. Lucia Dress ($89) which has a lovely halter-style wrap top and the cute Dotty Shift Tunic Dress ($89) which I think I own in red from a couple of years back (it’s glorious! I sized up to an 8).

DROP SHOULDER COWL NECK
(now $40, Black Modern Spot is now $63)

LONG SLEEVE BRETON
(now $24-39)

DROP SHOULDER BRETON
(now $39-$49)

SUPERSOFT SEAM TEE
(now $24-$31)

Over in the tops section stripes seem to be the main story of the sale. I love having so many options to choose from! In addition to these tops the Short Sleeve Breton (now $25-$35) looks cute, as does the solid colored Cora Top ($36-$45) which features ruching details around the bust — perfect for pairing with a pencil skirt. The long-sleeve Gwyneth Blouse (now $54) seems like a great pickup for these last chilly days in early Spring.

Over in the new shirt selection…wow, there’s a lot of cute stuff! I’m swooning over the Crossover Ruched Top ($55) which looks date-night ready. The Stripe-Seam Knit Tank ($39) is a great casual option; I really like the mix of thick and thin stripes and how they pull the eye inward, creating a flattering silhouette even with the swingy shape. This polka-dotted Silk Shirt ($148) might have a tricky fit if the reviews are accurate, but is so pretty it might be worth a shot.

In boho land, this Broderie Top ($89) seems like the ideal summer top, and this Floral Lace Top ($138) could be too.

On a total sidenote, after I placed my order (I bought the Wrap Dress topping this post in an 8L, the Martha Dress in a 10R since it’s a sheath and the Crossover Ruched Top in green to try in a M, and I might get the navy also if I like the fit and then invest in the Printed Cotton A-Line Skirt to go with it) I realized I’d forgotten to enter my promo code, so I called their customer service and they were the friendliest people ever! I especially love the very British greeting from Johnnie Boden when you call. A customer service call that’s delightful? Who. Knew.

Have you made any purchases from Boden during this sale? Do you plan to? How does Boden fit you?
