Cruising the sale, Part II

Warm (cape), work-ready (dress) and not excluded.

Picking up where we left off this morning, another one of my favorite non-Anthro retailers, Saks Fifth Avenue, is also having its Friends & Family promotion right now! The promo is online-only at the moment and in-store beginning tomorrow.

Much like Shopbop, Saks is offering 25% off your purchase using the code THANKYOU at checkout. However, the list of exclusions is long. Lllllllloooooonnnnnggggg. I have to be honest, while I was assembling this post I got shot down on so many of the items I wanted to include that I almost didn’t write it.

In the end, inside are the few items from my wishlist that are included in this promo. I love Saks but I hope they rethink this…thanking customers but then excluding what feels like 70% of their items from a promo is not a pleasurable experience. It kinda takes all the fun out of shopping…

I spoke about the 10 Crosby Derek Lam dress you see above at Shopbop in my post from this morning, and while I’m torn between getting this grey melange or the black version, I’m leaning towards this one right now. I’d love to wear it with tights and over-the-knee boots.

Also a repeat from the Shopbop post this morning, the same plushy Diane von Fursternberg dress I like there is also on promo at Saks. And with my Saks card that means points too…

In entirely new stuff, I’m rather in love with this mixed-stitch Rebecca Taylor sweater directly above and these Joie sandals, although they are admittedly out-of-season…though part of me feels like they could rock at a holiday party with the aid of a car ride both ways to protect legs and toes from cold.

Also from Rebecca Taylor is this fun cropped tweed jacket, which would be great for work over a dress. Perhaps over the Theory turtleneck dress topping this post!

Then it’s over to the jewelry, where the real fun begins for me. Alexis Bittar is thankfully not excluded from this Friends & Family promo, and let me say that his fall stuff is pretty amazing! This is a case where it’s easier to show than tell…

How many designers even make clip-on earrings anymore? Alexis Bittar does, in at least one of the styles shown above.

Beyond those delights, believe it or not I also love Michael Kors’s costume jewelry! I’m loving this barrel ring and its tortoise cousin as well as this super-fun 3D ring which has a bracelet cousin. Speaking of bracelets I like the idea of stacking this one in silver, goldrose gold and then topping it off with this pretty cobalt pave bracelet for a shock of color.

So that’s what’s left of my Saks Fifth Avenue picks after the exclusion list decimated a ton of it! Are you shopping this Friends & Family promo too?
