Pattern play, yay or nay?

Two sharply contrasting patterns together in the same piece.
Are we a fan of pieces like the Petal-Pop Wrap Skirt ($98) or not?

One intriguing trend I’ve already noticed in Anthropologie’s Fall 2015 collection is the collision of two very different prints or patterns on the same item, especially with florals. Today’s new releases alone saw items like the Petal-Pop Wrap Skirt ($98) above, the Southland Peasant Blouse ($138) in blue motif, the Water & Wildflower Skirt ($440), the exceptionally gorgeous Ephemere Dress ($598) and those gorgeous shoes too, the I-need-it-now Splendent Shift ($455).

I can’t decide whether I really love these pattern plays or if it’s just my Anthro goggles. What do you think of these items? Is there a trick to making them work?

Also, quick PSA: for fans of the Tearoom Pencil Skirt ($88, randomly popping back) HD in Paris has just released the similar Acanthe Skirt ($98). I totally dig it, do you?
