Feeling rather romantic about Anthropologie’s latest intimate options

A cute set to romp around the apartment in perhaps?
The Dittany Cami ($50) and the Eberjey Liv Sleep Shorts (now $30, currently sold out online).

I’ve been in a pretty romantic mood lately and that has me drifting over to Anthropologie’s intimates section, where I can find all kinds of lovelies to make hanging around in my apartment each evening that much more fun, whether alone or with my guy.

Inside, the lingerie catching my eye…

I’m delighted to see Anthropologie carrying ever more bra styles in D and DD cups. This style only goes up to a D unfortunately so I wear a 34D in La Perla (as opposed to my true size 32DD). I adore the rose color this set — which I found to be a little darker in real life than in this product shot, closer to the model’s lipstick. The back of the bikini has beautiful scalloping details that are super flattering on a toned rear!

I’ve raved about Skarlett Blue before — their Minx racerback is one of my favorite bras right now. I decided to give this Adore Demi bra a whirl and found it to be equally lovely. Available in sizes up to a DDD on Skarlett Blue’s site but only a D cup on Anthro’s (please consider carrying the full range Anthro!) I found my usual 32DD the best fit for me. The back of this bra has a deep U-shape which I find so comfortable on, it really takes the stress of having double d cups off my back and shoulders.

What’s nice about this bra is that although it has lace detailing it is seamless under tee shirts. So I can feel sexy knowing this cashmere-colored set is underneath. I’m not a big fan of these briefs — they run a little low on the hips for my liking. I much prefer the Goddess Hipsters ($16) which Anthro carries in the matching cashmere color (they call it nude).

What did I do before there was Natori? I am falling ever deeper in love with this brand and its romantic, ultra-feminine yet also super comfortable line of intimates. The flowers on the cups look a little like hands cupping the breasts, which is wonderfully suggestive to me. Perhaps the kind of thing I’d tease my guy with a text of? Just the bra on the bed and ask him what it makes him think of.

So, thanks Natori, for making all my comfy sexy dreams come true! The dark grey/black color combination is pretty killer too. Anthro carries up to a DD in this bra so I went with my usual size 32DD. It separates my cups a little more than I’m used to but the overall effect is still pleasant to say the least!

The long line bra is making a comeback in a big way (apparently these were quite popular in the 1970s). But most of the long lines I try have zero support which just won’t work for me. I’m delighted to share that this front-close (always amusingly confusing for men) long line bra has underwire cups that deliver decent support! I didn’t feel super perky in the bra, but under a supportive dress it works just fine. It runs up to D cups so a 34D is what I tried.

The lace is quite romantic and the overall design is sleek. The briefs are not my favorite — that band over the hip often digs into my soft pudges there. I find Lonely’s Arlette Briefs ($66) to be a much better fit.

If support is not your primary concern, I highly recommend Josie by Natori’s Bardot Ivoire Long-Line Bra ($48) and Briefs ($16). They are so pretty! Minimal support though.

Navy isn’t usually a color I consider for my intimates but this beautiful midnight blue set has me eating my words! Another lacy set (yes I do love lacy underwear), this set has a luscious desirable quality to it…almost vixenesque. I can wear it under work dresses on date nite.

The cups are soft and not super-supportive. I found that tightening the shoulder band helps a lot. It’s something I prefer to wear under a more structured piece; under something flowy it doesn’t give my breasts the round shape I prefer. As it runs to a D cup, I went with a 34D to try.

These briefs are very light on and though that side band can drive me nuts, here they did not dig into me at all. If a bikini is more your thing there is also the Fortuna Low-Rise Bikini ($40) in this same color.

I sometimes like to sleep in bralettes and the Fortuna Long-Line Bralette ($60) is a great, soft option in this same color (and other ones as well).

Speaking of bralettes, Eberjey is another one of my favorite brands. Their stuff is so soft! This t-back bralette is so great because it has an adjustable band in back which does give a tiny bit of support (every little bit helps!) while still being soft enough to sleep on painlessly. There is also a stunningly beautiful long line version of this bralette, though the cups are way too tiny for me.

The briefs are cutest from the back — I especially like the ruching down the middle as an extra cute detail that conforms to the shape of my rear.

Although this bra didn’t quite work on me (S-M-L sizing rarely does for day) I wanted to give it a shout-out anyway because it’s immensely fun to look at! The ribbon crosses are the kind of details that seem to captivate guys and this bra has the added little details of scallops, lace…lots of fun stuff to trace with a finger!

The fit issue for me came down to needing a small in band size but a large in cup size. If you’re more even than me this bra and the thong are sure to be winners!

This. Chemise. Though. What more do I really need to say? The night after some canoodling, wear this around the apartment while your guy is making breakfast and you won’t need to leave the house. Promise.

Though my top choice is to wear one of my guy’s tees over my intimates while we’re hanging out, I also will wear a light cardigan on top sometimes to keep the chill away. Right now the Cirro Cardigan ($138) is totally calling to me for this purpose. You can check out all of Anthro’s intimates here, and their sleepwear here.

Have you tried on any of Anthropologie’s intimates recently? What are your favorite bras right now? I reviewed a bunch of Anthro’s bras in this post not too long ago.
