Investigating Anthropologie’s latest new arrivals

The Alarie Dress ($298) is either really amazing, or really weird.
I can’t decide which.

Summer is in full swing and with each passing day I’m a bit more in the mood for tank tops, shorts and lightweight clothing. Anthropologie is slowly uploading its newest items for this month. We’ve already taken a look at many of the catalogue items; now let’s explore the new non-catalogue goodies!

July tends to be a smaller uploads month for new items (and come August, retail’s eye turns toward fall) so these are pretty much the last of the summer goodies to enjoy. In the dress department Anthropologie is pleasing me with its use of aqua and teal, two colors that look great on my pale complexion-dark hair combo! In truth it was hard for me to choose just one colorway of the Crossfront Lola Dress ($138) to show here — I’m intrigued by all four colors! The Arcata Dress ($398) has an intriguing back and I love the pattern mix on the Iguazu Tunic Dress ($248).

Over in tops, swingy is in as usual with Anthro for summer…though I suppose if there’s anytime to be extra flowy, summer is it! While the humidity in Hawaii didn’t bother me one bit, back home in NYC for just over a day I’m practically melting already and it’s not even August. I need clothing that feels like nothing for this time of year.

The Diminuendo Draped Top ($68) seems like Left Coast perfection that I’d like to borrow for my East Coast lifestyle. I hadn’t noticed the green version of the Layered Swing Tank ($68) before and now I totally need it in my life; I also plan to reproduce the Tibby Swing Tank ($68) outfit shown here. (Details on the shorts in the next section.)

Yes please to all of these shorts! While I’m very much a skirt gal, none of Anthropologie’s skirt options are really interesting me at the moment. This concerns me. But at least the shorts section is filling the gap.

The new colorway of the Laced Peplum Jacket ($228) is now online.

I’ve already purchased this jacket (despite being an “Online Exclusive” at least a few stores are carrying it) and I love it so much! A truly classic piece — I’m beyond delighted that Anthropologie asked for a new colorway of the jacket for summer. A total home run in my book.

What has been an Anthro home run for you recently? What summer items are you wishlisting and buying right now?

Quick note: I’m totally jet-lagged today, so if you’re waiting on an email response from me it will be at least another 48 hours or so. Thank you for your patience!
