Eye Candy: Anthropologie January 2015 Lookbook…sort of

Last week I felt confused as to whether there is a January 2015 Anthropologie Lookbook or not. Via Anthro’s official blog, it turns out that there is one! But…there’s no page for it on Anthro’s website…and when you click on the products from the catalogue the lookbook photos aren’t included on the page. Okkkkaaayyyy…totally weird, Anthropologie.

Update 9:09: Just got an email from Anthropologie that links to a January lookbook shopping page, but not the actual lookbook itself.

Perhaps this is because they featured two ‘real-world’ models this month, whatever that means. Although I hate classifying people into whether they are real-world or not because everyone’s real-world in some way unless Photoshop interjects I do love the idea that Anthropologie reached out to two of its favorite artist collaborators and asked them to model clothing. The artists are Agatha Kulaga, whose medium is baking (yum!) and Rebecca Rebouché — an artist I had the pleasure of meeting at an in-store event a few years back. Lots more to read, including an interview with them both, over on Anthro’s official blog.

The resulting photos are stunning — I am confounded that Anthropologie wouldn’t want to post these on their site. But I’ve given up trying to figure them out! Instead, inside are a few more shots grabbed from the blog plus some more photos I think could be from the lookbook, and some additional January picks. The photos I’ve used in this post are the only ones I could find so they are smaller than usual and bi-fold.

Much like we Aquarians, this month Anthropologie is being the ultimate in impossible for anyone else to figure out. Makes me kinda proud, actually.

Left: Palace Trellis Glass ($10-$12).

Here’s hoping Anthropologie updates their website with the entire lookbook soon. If they do I will update this post.

Not an entirely functional workout look (for me anyway), but cute nonetheless!

Onda Silk Caftan ($335), Lenny Niemeyer Hibiscus Maillot ($251).
Love this look!
It’s funny how Anthropologie is often far ahead on some trends yet left behind on others.
The white jacuqard skirt was everywhere last winter, now Anthro’s caught up. Beautiful.

Jeffrey Campbell Hough Heels ($138), Lantana Wrap Belt ($68).

January is a weird month for retailers. They have resort items out for the jet-setters, need to keep some winter items in-store because it’s friggin cold across most of the country and need to please people loaded up with holiday gift cards. Not to mention of all us January birthday monthers!! (I’ll have my birthday wishlist up next week.) How’d Anthropologie do? Not too bad. Considering my continued malaise with all retailers in general…Anthropologie continues to come in at the top of the heap.

Other new arrival highlights I dropped on my wishlists: Rona Basketweave Dress ($278), Savan Jacquard Gown ($378, it’s holy crap gorgeous!), Tierney Layered Shirtdress ($138, possible work option),  Melia Peplum Tee ($58, I am personally responsible for continued peplums by liking this), Arianell Smocked Tunic ($88), Crossed Pointelle Pullover ($88, I love tulip hems like this!), Embellished Tie-Dye Tank ($228), Alessa Romper ($88), Ukiyo Cropped Leggings ($98), Aerin Lia Heels ($398), The Juice Solution ($23, sounds like a book about steroids but it’s not), Scalloped Marble Frame ($30-$40), Bungalow Frame ($28-$68), Lumen Frame ($38-$58).

Did you receive the January lookbook in the mail? What’s made your wishlist so far this month?
