Praise be to Anthropologie, for once they’re not playing coy when it comes to their Black Friday plans! Well…mostly. Racked got the scoop on Anthro’s 2014 Black Friday shopper’s delight plans and they might sound a little familiar. What’s happening on November 28? Read on to find out…
According to Racked Anthropologie will once again be doing its holiday poppers (shown above) on Black Friday. The poppers are little confetti delights filled with treats inside. The treats will range from ‘something sweet’ (I’m guessing a freebie similar to their holiday playlist giveaway last year) to much bigger rewards like gift cards ranging from $10 to $500! There are also home treats like measuring spoon sets, pot holders, mugs, etc. Last year we had a couple of community $500 gift card winners — that’s super sweet! The poppers are available in-store only on Black Friday so if you’d like your chance at a big ol’ gift card you’ll have to head into the store.
Of course, Anthropologie was mum about any promotions it might run on Black Friday. So let’s use last year’s post-Thanksgiving weekend as a guide. On Black Friday in 2013 Anthropologie held a one-day 20% off EVERYTHING promotion that was valid both in-store and online. Then the next day on Saturday in 2013 Anthropologie’s sale went 20% off also valid both in-store and online, which included most of their holiday decorations and wrapping papers.
I’d expect something similar this year — some kind of one-day promotion on Black Friday (it could be Free Shipping, it could be 20% off a certain category such as dresses, it might be the same promo as last year) and then over the weekend I’d guess sale will be discounted by an extra percentage, either 20 or 25%. Your birthday discount will NOT work on Black Friday (apologies Scorps and Sags), but may work on the weekend promo.
Now I know you probably have a million questions…and I don’t have any answers for you yet. And I probably will not til the Tuesday or Wednesday of Thanksgiving week unless a tipster is feeling extra generous this year. (And last year, most stores were sent boxes that they could not even open til Thanksgiving, so stores might not have any idea either!)

Hopefully this helps peeps who are trying to figure out whether Anthropologie is worth the trip on Black Friday. (My answer is yes, but then my answer is always yes to ‘Should I go to Anthropologie?’ What else could I possibly say?!?) Does this entice you to stop by the store?
