Nordstrom’s got it right — rather than do markdowns at the end of a season, when the idea of waiting many months to wear the clothing nearly turns me off from shopping altogether, they’re previewing their fall collections with a sale before fall is even here! It’s time once again for Nordstrom’s semi-annual Anniversary Sale. Inside, some stuff I love from the sale and some picks from outside the sale.
If you are a Nordstrom credit or debit card holder you can now access the Anniversary Sale via this link. You can browse the catalogue or just get straight to shopping. (Note: the catalogue link might work for everyone — even if you don’t have a Nordstrom card — but I’m not 100% sure.)

Some of these items are available outside of Nordstrom too. The Loeffler Randall Work Tote ($399/$625) for example, comes in several other patterns. There’s a black & white snakeskin version; a “feather” calf-hair variation; a cheetah or maroon calf-hair version; and a canvas version. The tote also comes in a junior size, which starts at about $200 less.
If you’re not a Nordstrom cardholder or don’t want to wait some of the Anniversary Sale items are available elsewhere. Frye’s Molly Boots ($280/$418) can also be purchased via Amazon or Amazon-owned Zappos. (I am so excited about these boots! Finally a pair of Fryes that will fit over my calves!!)
The sale opens to the public on July 18th and runs through August 4th. In my experience most items that sell out at the beginning of the sale pop back before the end.
