A look I could actually wear to work!! Wonders never cease.
Anthropologie headed over to the Netherlands for their August 2014 Lookbook, taking pictures both within Amsterdam and around the countryside. (Windmills!) They have a video and a featurette up on their blog about the catalogue locale, though the lookbook itself isn’t yet up to shop. Preview time!
Right off the bat I noticed how these catalogue shots are beautiful, saturated and romantic-feeling. Perhaps one step above realistic into dreamland. That’s everything I want from an Anthropologie lookbook! It does seem like they’ve been listening to customer feedback and I’m thrilled to see a more classic art direction…a million miles better than the waifs posing with bodies askew looking into the camera somewhat lustily or the impossible angles that didn’t even focus on the clothing. This catalogue made me smile!! And wishlist like crazy.
I am fond of all things pommed, this pretty skirt included.
The whole look has me feeling lovely.
Mustard yellow is a stretch to me, but this feels like Anthro casual done right.
Stunning look in a great color palette for this hazel-eyed brunette!
I’m loving the skirt’s decorative waistband.
The top here bores me, the skirt landed straight on my wishlist, although it looks super short.
The satchel is also very appealing!
Overall this is one of the nicest lookbooks Anthropologie has done in a long time! Then again, their August through December lookbooks are usually my favorites of the year. I’ll make a separate post for the non-lookbook items I like…but here’s a quick list of some of the other new arrival items that made my wishlist: the Meadowsweet Maxi Dress ($550, Zimmerman is killing me in the best way possible!), the Rosado Sheath ($158), the Bellissa Dress ($118), the Giacinta Dress ($250), the Alcina Pencil Dress ($168), the Adderley Petite Dress ($148, you lucky petites!), the Ivorybloom Cami ($78), the Diamondstitch Peasant Top ($78), the Tarra Peasant Top ($360), the Metta Woven Sneakers ($150, I can’t decide if I love these or hate them), the Najash Shooties ($375), the Recessed Lace Sweatshirt ($78), the Center-Smocked Tank ($48), the Canna Lace Tee ($88), the Lacescape Pullover ($98), the 7 For All Mankind Duchess Garden Skinny Jeans ($198, hideous and I adore them).
Much more on those items in an upcoming post. What landed on your wishlist from the lookbook? What other new items do you love? What do you think of the photos in this post?
