Weekend recap: Tag Sale additions, New items, First Dibs, Online-Only glut and what’s coming up at Anthropologie

Mine, mine, mine, mine please. The gorgeous Astilbe Swing Dress ($475).

Anthropologie’s keeping us all on our toes right now! While the weekdays seem kind of slow on its website right now the weekend was chock full of new stuff. Including lots of new arrivals! Inside, the latest picks for my overflowing wishlist, a first dibs page for the July 2014 catalogue and two Tag Sale promos that end today. (And what could be on the way…)

I had hoped to be talking about Anthropologie’s July 2014 catalogue today…but unfortunately they haven’t released any preview shots on their website yet. I’m just glad there will be a July lookbook — with Anthro calling June their “Summer Lookbook” everywhere, I feared we’d get nothing in July. Luckily that’s not the case. I hope that tomorrow will bring plenty of pretty catalogue shots.

To tide us over Anthropologie sent its anthro members an email over the weekend leading to a first dibs page. Above are my 4 favorite items from the page. I don’t need another white lace tank and yet I must own the Ladder Lace Tank ($78). At its best this is what Anthropologie does to me!

The Caye Scalloped Dress ($148) and Noyo Tee ($78) also look promising. I’ve really liked what Anthropologie’s been releasing the past couple of months. More and more they are starting to return to flattering shapes. Tops are still too boxy…but even those are beginning to turn a corner. I’m excited! My wallet is of course crying.

Also over the weekend Anthropologie upload a ton of new arrivals, many of which have me very excited. My excitement is somewhat tempered though by how many of the items are online-only. In NYC I often stumble across these items at a local Anthropologie anyway but between shipping fees (EVEN BARNEY’S DOESN’T CHARGE SHIPPING ANYMORE ANTHROPOLOGIE. BARNEY’S!!! MASTERS OF THE $50 COURIER CHARGE. COME ON.) and the impossibility of knowing which size I need I’m loathe to order any of this stuff before it hits sale. Or Free Shipping. In reality it’s less about the shipping charge than it is my discomfort with buying something before I’ve tried it. Even when I order from a Shopbop or a Revolve or a Net-A-Porter, chances are I’ve schlepped out to a department store to try the item I want on first so I know my sizing. Can’t do that with a lot of Anthro’s online only stuff. It’s a bummer.

In addition to everything above needing a spot in my closet, I’m also excited about whatever skirt is shown with the black Silk Racer Cami ($78) and the Pivot Tank Dress ($138), which isn’t brand new but I just noticed it. It’s getting terrible reviews but has that ever stopped me? Don’t answer that. Just last week I noted my wishlist explosion and now it’s really chock full! To me that’s a wonderful thing — it means I’m excited about Anthro’s offerings again and all is right with the world.

Matepe Dress (now $100)

Wanderlust Dress (now $100)

Arcata Dress (now $100)

Veris Dress (now $70)
Over in Tag Sale land, today is the last day to get the dresses you see above for under $100 ($99.95 in most cases). Anthropologie also has a page of sandals under $100 and another for tops under $30 which don’t appear to be going anywhere.

If this year’s Summer Tag Sale follows the pattern of the last year or two, we can expect to see an extra % off sale coming on Thursday or Friday for the long July 4th weekend in the USA. However, that’s unofficial and I’ve gotten no hints to corroborate this. Just a gut feeling. Could very well be wrong.

Canadians, don’t feel left out! Now through July 1 you can get Free Shipping on orders of $150+ using the code CANADADAY. Lucky Canucks.

I’ve had a bunch of requests about what I’ve purchased lately, so sometime this week I’ll share what I’ve gotten from Anthro and beyond. Today for instance Piperlime is offering an extra 30% off sale using the code SUMMERSALE. But for some reason I got the email early and was able to use the code yesterday, mwa haa haa!!!

Designer sale season is the best season! What are you hoping to see from Anthropologie this week?
