Wishlist: January 2013

It’s my favorite month of the year: the Birthday Month!! And my wishlist is full of desirable delights.

Although I avoided most stores like the plague in December my first few January visits have already replenished my lists of items I want. Delirium has retailers thinking resort and spring but there are enough workable transition pieces to keep me warm for a few more months.

Anthropologie is hiding their January catalogue from us (I am beginning to doubt its existence) and their website has me thinking it’s tropical islands or bust. In-store however there are quite a few new pretties that caught my eye.

I’ve tried on all the pieces above and they’ll get reviews this week. While it’s not new anymore, I finally found the Lace-Framed Cardigan ($128) in-store to give it a try. It does make my shoulders look broad but I like it enough to pay full price. Of the four I’m most excited about Cartonnier’s Diana Blazer ($128). Pantone’s color of the year is emerald green and Anthropologie’s executed a stunning blazer in that flattering shade. It’s very similar to the Miette Blazer (now $40) but it’s longer which is better proportionally for someone tall like me (I’m 5’8″). The Diana looks great over both the Mesilla Peasant Blouse ($128) and the Warbler Post Peasant Blouse ($128)! My full reviews will reveal how they do on their own. Here’s a sneak preview:

Even with the birthday discount it’s tempting to just wait for all of these items to hit sale instead. Very few Anthropologie items are selling out at full price these days and it would be nice to get these items at 50% off rather than 15% off. But I do like my instant gratification so I have feeling at least a couple of these will be coming home this month.

Bags are usually more my speed but Anthropologie has been killing it with their clutches recently. Over the holidays they had tons of sparkly pieces to choose from and even now there are some really cute options online. (Plenty more in-store if you live near an Anthropologie location.) The Auric Sheen Perforated Pouch ($98) may not look like much online but in person it’s just the right touch of sheen and metallic. I was very tempted to just buy it on the spot. Also beautiful is the Large Fractal Beaded Pouch ($68), although I’m cheating because it’s already in my closet.

My wrists are clamoring for all the attention right now thanks to some beautiful adornment options at Anthropologie. Although a $298 pricetag seems a little silly, I fell in love with an in-store only version of the Sparkling Strands Wrap Watch ($298) that features green Swarovski crystals instead of the white ones in the online version. I’m thinking a r-e-s-t-o-c-k is needed on the alpha-adorned Slim Monogram Cuff ($58), wouldn’t you say Anthropologie? The Aquamarine Pinwheel Drops are pretty and vaguely deco ear decorations.

That’s my Anthropologie Birthday wishlist!! What’s on your radar this month?
