Guest Post: Creative Dressing by Melina

Note: While I am on vacation the community is helping keep EA live! This guest post is written by Melina of The Caffeinated Closet.
Hi Effortless Anthropologie readers! I’m Melina and I blog over at The Caffeinated Closet. Like all of you, I am in love with Anthropologie and you may recognize me from the reader outfits that I submit every week. When Roxy said that she was accepting guest posts, I was beyond excited for the opportunity to further contribute to the Effortless Anthropologie community!
Anyway, today I am here to show you a few different and creative ways to wear dresses. I love to wear dresses, and I find them to be a nice (and comfy) alternative to jeans. However, sometimes it can be hard to creatively style a dress because they are such stand-alone pieces. So, I wanted to share with you five dresses, worn five different ways to provide a little creative dress-ing inspiration!
1. Balance out a classic, printed dress with a belt and simple denim jacket. Keep the look streamlined by matching your belt and boots!

2. Complement a brightly colored dress with neutral accessories and a textured cardigan. Create a flattering silhouette by cinching your waist with a belt.

3. For a cold-weather look, throw a loose, solid-colored sweater over a dress and add tights and boots. Play up the different textures of all your pieces!

4.  Create a preppy and casual look by layering a chambray top over your dress. Complete the look by adding boat shoes or sneakers!

5. Go layering-crazy by styling a printed dress with a simple long-sleeved shirt, scarf, and tights. Pull the whole look together by adding a colored belt that matches the print for a bright pop of color.
