Emails: Catching up on the good word from Anthro

Anthropologie has been very talkative via email lately and I’m way behind on recapping the good word. It’s poor form on my part since Anthro has a few great promotions going on right now. Just last week for instance they poked us to let us know that full-priced sweaters are 25% off through 9/18. And just in case that wasn’t enough they reminded us that Free Shipping is in effect until 9/30 for USA residents so long as your order includes one full-priced item. (Love free shipping, not so thrilled with the caveat.) For Canadian and Australian residents shipping is half the normal rate through September 30.

Another sweater-themed email extolls the virtues of sheer sweaters, especially when layered over pretty lithe dresses.  I am dubious but a recent store display utilizing the Undine Chemise ($58) and I do like many of the pieces on the landing page. So maybe I’m caving to the dark side (the sheer side?) after all.

The Undine Chemise ($58) with the Flourished Hem Tee ($98),
the Festooned Rungs Necklace ($48), the Golden Pinnate Necklace ($28)
and the Malmo Clogs ($248).

Urban Outfitters (Anthropologie’s parent company) is known for being pet-friendly. One way they show that love locally is by holding pet adoption drives every so often as the email above announces. I know someone who adopted a wonderful dog from one of these events. They also have treats for your pup, pet-themed items and accept donations for local shelters. It’s a great event! The next round of pet drives starts this week — you can look up local events here. I’ll be donating some items at the Soho Anthropologie on Saturday (my pup Cinnamon will come with me).

Anthropologie has some of the best personal shoppers around and a recent email to anthro members highlighted some of the amazing store shoppers from around the country. I was delighted to see Lina from the 5th Ave Anthropologie in NYC among the featured personal shoppers! All of the NYC personal shopping team is amazing and Lina has helped me put together outfits for holiday parties, work events and a date or two with the boyfriend. I’m sure Karen and Michelle are equally as awesome! This is the kind of email I’d love to see more of — show me the people behind the flowy!

Finally, the most recent anthro member email features a cool DIY project from Design*Sponge’s Grace Bonney. Make your own animal-themed printed tote? Something even a little-talent hack like me can complete? Consider me in! You can see all the steps here. Ms. Bonney is currently on a book tour for Design*Sponge at Home, a collection of projects meant for you and me to try. The tour has stops at several Anthropologie stores and copies of the book at the stores include a special Anthro-only insert. (Pretty neat, Anthro!)

Alright, now we’re all caught up. Have you read these recent emails? What do you think of the sheer sweater styling ideas? Will you attend the pet drive or Design*Sponge book events?
