OOTD: Wonder Woman

New York Fashion Week is just about over and I’ve not seen a single show. Usually I beg my way into an invite to at least one show thanks to friends in the industry (the show is usually Nanette Lepore or Anna Sui). Not this time around; work has been beyond busy and that’s a good thing. Instead I’ve been meeting up with my friends at the after parties, which are their own level of interesting.

I love hearing about bloggers being taken more seriously — I think it’s beyond cool that Tumblr sent 24 bloggers to NYFW and it’s great to see ManRepeller reporting from the field for The Cut. In the rare cases that I’m lucky enough to get an invite, I enjoy going just as a fan of fashion rather than with an agenda. I am so happy to see the success of these kindred spirits and I hope it means more opportunities to come.

So with no need to be dressed up in the NYFW uniform of (faux) fur, black and grey, I turned instead to a top that makes me feel great. It’s Anna Sui’s Upon the Shore Blouse (reviewed here). Not sure if it’s just me but I get Wonder Woman vibes from this top. I’ve loved superheros since I was a kid and the feeling I get when I wear this top is part super, part silly. A perfect mix in my opinion.

Optimally I’d pair this top with a cardigan of the same length, but I have none that go currently. Until then the peplum falls below the sweater and catches air when I twist about. A cascading tier necklace tops it all off. This outfit is 100% fun!

I’ll have a reviews set up later this evening. Until then, crime fighters!
