OOTD: Warmly yours

Today’s outfit is sponsored by J.Crew — not officially, but in attending their holiday parties last month I was inspired to buy something at each until I’d assembled a full outfit. It is with great sadness that I announce the probable passing of my cashmere shawl popover in heather hydrangea. Over the weekend it developed two holes, one of which seems unpatchable. I dropped it off with my friend the master sewer to see if it can be rescued. Mourn with me in past looks last year and way back in 2009. Waa.

Luckily I have the bronzed olive version to keep me company this year. Some of my friends are not crazy about the greens J.Crew carried for this winter, calling them pea soup. I can’t disagree with the comparison but I like the brownish tones myself. Underneath is a truer green, both of which settle nicely against the tweed skirt. To me, this look is a nice mix of the preppy elements I love with some fun feminine details thrown in. Specifically the bowed pumps which are beautiful but damn uncomfortable. An insert was required to make them workable for a full day at the office.
