OOTD: Summer Twilight

I ain’t afraid of no pattern.

Summer may be long gone but my love of florals knows no season. Anthropologie carried Leifsdottir’s Summer Twilight Dress (you can read my review here) but strangely didn’t carry the blouse version in this outfit. When I saw the blouse I knew I no longer needed the dress. I ended up buying the top directly from Leifsdottir’s site.

This look is full of pieces I love, from the H&M trench with the polka dot lining to the Surging Springs Skirt ($88, review here) that has been flying mostly under the radar. I think that minus the Berry Bush Tights this look would work in spring just as it is. And that’s never a bad thing, right? One outfit note: I wear the belt over my trench. It’s a fun little twist to an otherwise boring palette of all black.

Sadly, the shoes I wore this look are starting to die. They are my beloved scalloped mary janes from Nine West. They’re probably 6 or 7 years old at this point. Best pair of shoes I’ve ever owned but the leather is starting to tear beyond repair. I haven’t found anything that comes close to their design. I wish Nine West would just re-issue them! Have you ever been unwilling to give up an item you love because you can’t find a suitable replacement?
