OOTD: Pretty in pink

Mmmhm.
Have you ever waited and waited and waited for an item to go on sale, only to miss out when it finally does? That’s what happened to me with this Leifsdottir skirt. I originally tried it on last spring at Bloomingdales. While I loved the skirt, the original pricetag meant I had to wait. So I did. I mourned the summer without this cute little skirt and ended up missing its markdown. Come Fall I resigned myself to it never being mine.
Then last weekend Rue La La included this skirt in one its Sunday Night Styleathons. And somehow I missed it again! I got my Gilded Garden Dress (finally!) but this piece again slipped through my fingers. I did one last search for the skirt and found one on eBay. It looked legit and the price was less than Rue La La’s. Score! Now it’s finally mine. And while it was designed for Spring it works well for Fall and Winter when paired with black. To tone the look down I wore my army jacket over it to work and used a distressed leather bag from Urban Outfitters.
I’m no makeup expert but even I knew this look required a nice pink lip. So I used a darker pink from Maybelline’s Colorstay line. I love this stick — it’s got the color on one end and a moisturizer on the other, which is perfect because my lips tend to dry out. But the color really stays. Like, still there after washing my face stays. Like, still there after taking a shower stays. Like, I wonder if my lips are permanently stained stays! (It does eventually come off.)
