Outfits: Now + Later

Anthro, you had me at paisley architectural jacket. The latest outfit set is an exploration of light layers and transitional pieces. I am in love with several looks as usual. Shall we dissect them together?

The look above is the most alluring to me. Though the shape may be too severe for real life I am entranced by how Moth’s Stormy Paisley Sweater Jacket ($128) looks on the model. It’s part chic work and part fairy tale. The hint of C. Keer’s Mighty Adornment Tee ($68, review here) sticking out only adds to the lovely feminine detail. Even if that specific sweater doesn’t work on me this is a great guiding look to replicate. The other really interesting element in this outfit are Seychelles’ Hidden Sun Mary Janes ($98), aka the Kiss At Midnight). Both the turquoise hue and intricate buckle are calling to me, though it’s hard for me to pick between the color shown here and the warm brown also available.

Also in this outfit: Forgotten Treasures Necklace ($58), 7 for All Mankind Kimmie ($178).

I suppose leaning forward to show the Next Year’s Lily Top ($58) in its most flattering position is the trick to this look. Or is the issue that the Through The Grapevine Necklace ($32) is pitching the model forward? (Probably not, it’s quite light in real life.) Can I walk around hunched over as such all day? Not likely, but a belt in real life could do the trick to make this look work. I eagerly await the Whipped Woolens Cardigan‘s ($78) local arrival so I can eenie-meenie-miney-moe among the colorblocked options.

Also in this outfit: Three-Six-Five Booties ($168), AG Basic Khakis ($148).

The Turbine Dress ($118, review here) has an asymmetric neckline that’s hidden here. But I love a tee under a dress and the Quiet Achievement Tee ($58) is a good — albeit expensive — option. Also intriguing? The Finer Points Lace-Ups ($150), which look like the exposed skeleton of oxfords to me. Perhaps they were dug up during an expedition, dinosaur-style?

Also in this outfit: Pebbled Double-Wrap Belt (now $20), Elemental Blooms Necklace ($48).

I could copy this entire look for work or a night out. I love that! It’s a little difficult to make out the details on the top portion of the Curtain Closer Dress ($128) but I can tell the shape is universally flattering. I just hope the bow is as wonderful in real life. And hello Wedding March Skimmers ($88)! You’re cute as a button in neutral, and you come in black too? Wonderful news.

Also in this outfit: Verveine Necklace ($42).

Admittedly, I am not sure I understand the appeal of a sweatshirt of a bow on it. (Yes, I realize it’s a knockoff, but the Blushing Bow Top ($68) is raising some eyebrows over here.) It’s admittedly cute in this shot though. I think the shape is great and I’d love the top in something like silk instead. There’s no doubt of my love for the Acting Out Skirt ($88), now in teal for fall! It’s a flattering shape in an on-trend hue.

Also in this outfit: Collage Pop Bracelet ($88), Relaxed Collar Lace-Ups ($198).
