Guest post: Loungewear ideas by Abby

In this look: Buoyant Bunches Cardi in moss ($78)
& Boursault Undies (now $20)

One day I was lamenting over some pages in a magazine-wishing so badly my “lounging about” style was as cute as the women on the pages. I often climb into bed with a huge grey ARMY t-shirt on. Now, as comfortable as it might be to sleep in — I certainly was not tempted to do a double take of myself when I passed a mirror. But then the question rose to the top of my mind….why shouldn’t my bedtime attire be adorable, womanly and sophisticated? I lounge, I sit about at home, and I have a hubby who would love to see me in something that whispers femininity in its every stitch.

I rushed to my closet hoping to find some “hidden” gem of a nightgown I perhaps had forgotten about. Sadly, rather than discovering a nightgown I discovered that the money I spend on clothing never has had a focal point on sleepwear. What’s a girl to do I wondered? A splash of brilliance hit me: wear “non-pajama” clothing as pajamas!! And why not? We all know Anthro’s heavenly fabrics are just the perfect thing to crawl into and slink around the house in until bed time. They are soft, cozy and always, always, always feminine.

In this look: Roots & Wings Tunic (now $50)
& Daily Indulgence Undies (now $20)

In this look: Soft Edges Tee in grey (now $40)
& Painted Petals Boyshorts (now $20)

In this look: Soft Patch Cardi (now $50)
& Chalkstripe Tap Shorts (now $30)

In this look: Frothy Top (in purple) ($68)
& Daily Indulgence Undies (now $20)

In this outfit: Tern Tail Cardigan (now $50) in black
& Daily Indulgence Undies (now $20)

In this look: Deeply Rooted Henley in green motif (now $30)
& Winding Lace Undies in coral (now $20)

In this look: Speckled Egg Cardi ($78) & Lazuli Lace Set ($48)

These are a few pieces currently showing their stuff at Anthro that I think would serve well for this role, but check out your own closet and see just what you want to wear to bed tonight. I promise you-there will be a bit more satisfaction in your evening when you look lovely even as you pull your covers up.

Goodnight Ladies.

Just wondering has anyone with a bigger chest (D,DD) bought any bras or lounge tops from here? I love the butterfly Net set but that bra looks small.

This is such a creative post with perfect timing! I was actually thinking the other day that I needed something cuter to lounge around the house in than a t-shirt and soffe shorts. Thank you for some great ideas! 🙂

fun post and great picks! 🙂 I've been wanting to peruse Anthro's sleepwear options, but I'm scared to add even more prettyness to my too full wishlist!

Great post Abby! Savemypoptarts, I am also curious if anyone with a bigger chest has tried Anthro's lingerie. I usually can't wear pretty bras cause they don't ever have any support!

fun post! thank you Abby!I have question re. Cartography cardi. I know it fits sort of small for most. But anyone who has had it for a while think that it may stretch quite a bit? Please advise, my sis and I are trying to swap our Small and Medium cardis between us. I have the small and she has the medium.. Thanks in advance

I love the concept behind this post! I often see undergrads walking around campus wearing Anthro nightgowns as dresses (something which, as their professor, makes me cringe just a little…). However, I never considered the possibility of turning some of my favorite Anthro tanks/sweaters into cute lounging/sleeping outfits. Now that's an idea that I can subscribe to! Thanks for contributing, Abby 🙂

I'm with cravenmaven, and like nice sleeping attire no matter the audience.I think Anthro loungewear is cute and have worn a few pieces as my sleepwear.I don't find their bras very supportive but also i have the most difficulty because i have a small ribcage and can't make the one size (S, M, or L) work.

I love this post — the pairings are super cute. I am also guilty of rocking the team-building exercise tshirt look :p. In fact, after reading this post last night, I promptly went and changed into a cute cotton aerie nightie that I never really wear but should b/c it's pretty comfortable. DH was appreciative of my efforts to look less slobby at home, lol.I purchased my first bra from Anthro earlier this week which should be arriving soon. If it works out I'd definitely think about getting some more pieces!
