Email: anthro in our own words

This month’s anthro: in our own words newsletter arrived today and it’s awesome. (They always are.) It’s not the topic I expected them to cover — I was hoping for more on the catalogue shoot at Los Pazas. But on a sort of related note the newsletter instead delves into the inspiration Anthropologie’s design team draws from travel.

Specifically the email rips pages from the home design director’s Bali travel journal. Vivid photos are linked with home products meant to evoke the same feelings and color palette. It’s fascinating stuff. Anthro created a flickr album with many of the shots. Why the employee is unnamed I don’t know. It takes something away from the human element this newsletter is supposed to provide.

And hey, did you know Anthropologie is doing complimentary shipping for anthro members through 3/31? If you read this blog you sure do. Awesome stuff.

I never get their newsletters but the pictures look pretty (not as pretty as the new spring arrivals, but I digress). On an unrelated note…does anyone know what the difference is between the bias ruffles racerback (from the fall), and this season's "tutu tank"?Specifically wondering about fit, quality. I ordered the bias ruffles tank but now I wonder if the tutu version is better or significantly different?

Yeah, I don't get this either…I'd like to, though! How do I sign up?

When you sign up for the anthro account you need to check the box to receive emails. I'm not sure if you can change it online after you sign up — I only see unsubscribe options in the anthro section of the website. Under your Anthropologie.com accounts, do you have all the email options checked?

This email just made me wonder if that employee knows how lucky they are to have a job like that! Geez, Anthro, rub it in! It was bad enough watching Man Shops Globe, ha ha.
