Second Markdowns that we know of…

Part two of all things sale focuses on items that have a second (or third!) markdown. This is not the complete list. If you know of any more items please add it in the comments. If an item is listed as unconfirmed that means I have not seen the markdown myself and your success getting this price may vary. Kindly remember that this blog is not affiliated with Anthropologie so the store is under no obligation to match prices listed here. Good luck, and cheers to a wonderful community.

I also wanted to take a moment to welcome new visitors to this blog coming over from yesterday’s awesome Lucky Magazine post about Effortless Anthropologie! Welcome, and I hope you’ll come back and visit again soon.

Hi Roxy,I'm not sure if you'd know the answer to this, but I was wondering if there's anyway to get a 14 day price adjustment without being at a store in person. I bought the Pondside Cardi last week for 70 dollars in Toronto, I live 2 and a half hours away and chances are I won't be back there within the next week. If I called the store, do you think there'd be anyway they could adjust it?

  3. February 3, 2010 / 1:00 pm

Thank you ali. :)Gloria – I honestly have no clue. They might be able to look up your transaction via the ID on the receipt but I'm not sure. Maybe an employee who reads the blog can give better insight?

  4. February 3, 2010 / 1:08 pm

Gloria – I've read about someone doing it over the phone, and I think I saw an employee doing one over the phone. If you have your receipt and explain nicely the situation then I think you can do it. There is a transaction # on the receipt that they will have to look up.

  5. February 3, 2010 / 1:25 pm

Congrats on the recognition from Lucky! Wow!

  6. February 3, 2010 / 1:54 pm

I had to place another order. Somebody stop me. Aglow Tank in gold is marked down to $19.95 (gold only, others are still $38), en plein air scarf was $148 now $19.95? Hello. How cute will that look in summer with those juicy colors. That and some other second mark-downs and my bank will be calling me soon wondering if I have lost my mind.Okay, I am done!

Unexpected treasures cardi is now $30. My store in Durham, NC seemed to be re-stocked with tons of Twilit skirts ($30)and other sales skirts that have been out for a while. A few Leifsdottir second markdowns as well.

Congrats on you Lucky Post.I just wanted to leave a comment for Gloria. You should be able to get a price adjustment. I was able to get an adjustment on items I bought while on vacation in NV. All I did was call the store and they were able to track my purchases using the transaction number on my reciept. It took a few minutes to get done but totally worth it! Call the store.

The always a lady skirt is in my wishlist as being marked down to 40. If you could find that in the store it would be a stellar deal.

  15. February 3, 2010 / 3:16 pm

Roxy: Great news about the recognition you have been receiving. You certainly but alot of hard work into the blog and it's nice that it is noticed. I know I have mentioned it frequently to others and I know that a few SA's at the store have looked at it and like it.On another front, thanks for the second markdown update. I ordered the Leading Lady trench I had been admiring, but was too expensive at $495. Whoo Hoo!

  16. February 3, 2010 / 3:21 pm

OK, added the Silken Trellis Dress since I could confirm that one online. 🙂 Keep the tips coming! Also, have you ladies checked out the new arrivals this morning? There's a solid version of my beloved Ode to Spring Tank called the Storybook Tank, and an amazing dress by Deletta called the Curvy Shift which I tried on and WOW, the fit is so flattering. I have to go takes shots with my camera — my phone was unfortunately dead when I tried it on. All new arrivals here. 🙂

  20. February 3, 2010 / 4:05 pm

Hi Roxy – don't know if you saw my comment from late yesterday – I mixed up the names of a 2nd markdown I reported! The Small Packages cardi is not on sale – it's the UNEXPECTED TREASURES cardi that got a 2nd down to $30. I'm so sorry for any confusion I caused!!

  21. February 3, 2010 / 4:06 pm

Ah, Patti, I must have missed your follow-up comment. I'll fix the post now — thanks for dropping a line here.

Roxy or anyone who might know…I bought the Silken Trellis dress over a month ago when it first got marked down…do you think i could return it, get reimbursed the $120.00 i paid for it, then buy anther Silken Trellis dress for $60.00? That's assuming i can find the size 2 in store…otherwise i'll just keep the one i have…

  33. February 3, 2010 / 6:06 pm

Kudos right back to all of you. This community is what it is because we're all here together.Sharon – Ugh, the extra $60 is a tough pill to swallow. You could return it and repurchase it, however in my mind that's taking advantage of Anthro's return policy. I would not recommend it. It's a short-term gain that (if too many do it) could end up changing the policy for the worse in the long run.

  34. February 3, 2010 / 6:11 pm

Roxy-it sure is, especially considering i bought the Amarena Dress full price back in October-and it's now $50.00. But i totally fell in love with that dress and loved the fit on me from the first. I'm surprised it stuck around so long but i guess the fit didn't work for a lot of people. oh well, chalk it up to lesson learned. You just can never tell what items will make it to sale, or secondary cut even. I'll just hang on to my Silken Trellis Dress..i still think it was worth $119.00 and those that are getting it for $60.00 are getting an amazing steal!

  35. February 3, 2010 / 6:13 pm

Sharon–I'm going to chime in here and agree with Roxy. I've bought plenty of items at full price that goes on sale later, and I wouldn't think of returning them and repurchasing them. Look at it as a guarantee that you got the dress you want in the size you want.About two week ago, I bought the snow scape tank, but I got an additional 15% off because it had a rip in the side seam. I'm not even going to ask for a price adjustment because I already feel that the price I paid was fair. I wouldn't take advantage of Anthro's liberal PA and return policy, because I don't want them to ever do the "sale stuff is final sale" that some other retailers do.

  36. February 3, 2010 / 6:20 pm

Tien-I appreciate your input-I do think Anthro has quite a liberal return policy to begin with, and I am happy to have gotten the Silken Trellis Dress in my size. As you can see in my earlier post, i will go ahead and keep my dress-$120 was a reasonable price for it, and $60 is truly a steal. And my size is already sold out on the website anyway…

    February 3, 2010 / 6:20 pm

Aghhh! The laced roses cardigan which had been on my wishlist for weeks is all sold out at the $30 price now. If anyone happens to see one in XS or S at their store this afternoon, would you hold it for Glenda and let me know?Thank you so much!gleegardens@yahoo.com

  38. February 3, 2010 / 6:26 pm

Gloria – I have called stores on many occasions to receive a price adjustment. There are two ways that they can do it:1) If you have the original sale receipt from your purchase then they'll ask you to read some of the numbers off from the top of the receipt.2) If you don't have the original receipt but purchased your item with an Anthro card, they can use your Anthro card number to verify the amount that you paid.

Just got back from my afternoon appts and was able to call CS about the Laced Roses cardi XS. Well durn, according to CS, no other stores are showing it in their inventory except Berkeley, and I can confirm that there are none after speaking to nice SA Susie. Ah well, this is a lesson to me. This morning I chose to go exercising with a a friend instead of checking Roxy's blog first thing. Clearly, I need to get my priorities straight!Congrats on the Lucky shoutout, Roxy! A big shout-out and thanks to Stacy, who heeded my Laced Roses SOS call and e-mailed me with a tip about seeing one at the Carmel Anthro. And now I have one on its way to me! I was so happy that I did a victory touchdown-style dance, notable because I am not sporty at all.Stacy said she also saw a small one at the Palo Alto location last Friday–so hopefully one of y'all can get it! (650) 322-0435FYI the Carmel location didn't have any more Laced Roses in any other sizes…

Has anybody seen the Twilit skirt in a size 2? There's one on ebay but I'm not entirely willing to pay the ebay price vs the anthro store price. Also, has anybody seen the Inverness Trench in their stores still or am I fresh out of luck? Does anybody have the style number for the trench? I may have to place a phone call to Anthro CS tomorrow morning.

  75. February 4, 2010 / 4:21 pm

I have a general CS question and was wondering if anybody would know the answer to this. I live in Canada and sadly U.S. stores dont' accept over the phone orders to Canada. However, does anyone know if would they ship to a UPS store in the U.S?

  76. Fiona
    February 4, 2010 / 8:00 pm

Naomi- No luck on the Twilit skirt search so far 🙁 Yvonne- I'm in the same situation…I spoke to Anthro CS and the lady on the phone said that they do not ship to Canada but if you are in Canada, you can get it shipped to an US address and then pick it up from there (or get the US address to mail the item to you). The shipping address does not need to match your credit card billing address. I hope this helps!

  77. February 4, 2010 / 8:24 pm

Thanks Fiona. I think that would work for me 🙂

  78. February 4, 2010 / 8:46 pm

Molly–thanks a lot for the info on the Dew Point Blouse. I got another e-mail saying that Anthropologie did have it in stock, so everything worked out.
