Styled: Seurat Posie Blouse

undefined

This post is for Stephanie, who asked for styling options for the Seurat Posie Blouse (no longer online at Anthropologie, so link is to Bergdorf Goodman).

This blouse has such a lovely mix of colors! The only thing that kept me from buying it was that I’d already invested in the Drenched Helenium Tee and Paragon Top. We’re admittedly taking a heavy-handed cue from Anthropologie with this first outfit, styling the blouse under a dress. But the look is so great it’s worth revisiting! The belt is optional, I find it helps to keep the blouse in place when used as an underlayer but one of my co-stylists is anti-belt.

Though the blouse doesn’t have red in it there are cues towards it so the accessories and shoes both work. We chose brown as the neutral tone to work against but this outfit could also work with taupe or black.

In this outfit:
All Trades Dress (now $20)
Seurat Posie Blouse (now $140 – link to Bergdorf Goodman!)
Bouquet-Of-Roses Heels ($138)
Hummingbird’s Gift Tote ($338)
Radiant Necklace (similar here and here)
Bits-Of-Ice Bracelet ($48)
Frenesi Posts ($28)
Interlocked Belt ($48)
Hue Opaque Tights ($13)

For this second look we went brave fashion forwardinista (I think I just made up a word). The vest adds a tailored look to this flowy blouse and the mini says “I ain’t afraid of no ghosts cold!” We chose a grey vest to keep the top from getting too heavy but you could sub it out for black, chocolate brown or any of the colors in the shirt. We attempted to pull the colors out with the purse while the wingtip shoes have the same grey tone found in the blouse with an airy feel. All you need is a brimmed hipster hat and your transition is complete.

Items in this set:
Seurat Posie Blouse (now $140 – link to Bergdorf Goodman!)
Bailey 44 Bus Vest in Heather ($152)
From Monet Skirt ($128)
Wing Heels ($338)
Forest-For-The-Trees Bag ($175)

Thanks for this, Roxy! I have the All Trades dress and hadn't really thought about layering a pretty blouse underneath!

Off topic. I am so excited I have to shout it out to the world. I just bought the Conch Shell pencil skirt (March 09 catalog, full price $ 288) at a local Nordstrom Rack for $ 29.9 (75% off of $ 109 sale price). That is 9.5% of the original price!!!I am very very happy today, until tomorrow if Anthro has another sale.I am so happy!!!!On a separate note, I almost bought the same skirt at Anthro back in Sept/Oct 09 for $ 69 sale price. I was too picky to ask the SA to look for my size. Her reply:" we do not have your size. This is a long time ago skirt", and she quickly tossed it away as it might have fleas. I was so confused by her answer. This was just in the March catalog and I asked in Sept/Oct timeframe. It was just out a few months. But her answer just implied that this skirt is an ancient, out-of-season, out-of-fashion piece. Needless to say, I did not get the skirt but I could not let it go. Then around Nov. timeframe, this skirt showed up again at the same Anthro store. This time, they marked it at $ 129. What? The first was $ 69, and the second $ 129. I did not get it either. Now, today, I got it for $ 29!!! It is destined to be mine.I just have to shout it out.

Stephanie yes it is, just no longer online. It's style #944293. I saw it at the 5th Ave store as recently as last week.Anon @ 7:05 PM THAT IS AMAZING! My conch shell pencil skirt is a compliment magnet. You scored it for much, much, MUCH less than I did. Congrats. 🙂

Such a good idea to pair this blouse with the All Trades dress! I have that dress in the black (though I always wanted the olive, boo for my size selling out). But I'm always racking my brain for blouse ideas to pair it with!

Great thanks! I called Anthro CS, 5th Ave does have it, I'm going to call them tomorrow. Having never seen the necklace, which one do you recommend the red color or the other one?

I chose the blue because I like the greyish tone of it, but the red is equally nice.

Hi Roxy,I could hardly contained my excitement. I saw your post on this skirt. I loved it. This skirt is so beautiful and timeless. I plan to pair it with Mother's Pearls Blouse (Sept/Oct 07) to bring out the lilac color or On-the-wing blouse. I love the on-the-wing blouse on you.
