Styled: Solo Stroll Skirt

This post is for Danielle, who wanted some teacher-appropriate options for the Solo Stroll Skirt ($98).

This was a tough one for us. The sweater is a thick wool mix but we didn’t want to use heavy materials on top. So at some point we just said forget it; we’re gonna balance out the skirt with lightness on top because that’s what we want to do. For this look we picked out a blouse that has a mix of mostly light colors and just a few darker tones. This will draw attention up towards your face during lessons and you’ll look vibrant and awake. We added a cami because you’ll probably need it underneath. As a sidenote if you happen to live near H&M they have a dead-on knockoff of the Leifsdottir blouse for $24.99. I almost spit out my coffee when I saw it.

We didn’t want to do too much darkness in this outfit at all. The gals and I reached a consensus that light clothing = happy teacher. No idea if this correlation is real or imagined. So we chose lighter shoes and accessories. The necklace does have a touch of black to bring it all together. The bag is an unexpected hipster touch in an otherwise classic outfit. Already we think you’re the most stylish teacher at your school.

Solo Stroll option 2 by roxyturtle

This look is not for the fashion meek. We have both a very strong skirt and an equally strong top. We think it works because the rest of the outfit is comprised of neutrals. However if the red blouse is too much for you we understand and suggest looking for a similar shape in navy or black to return focus to the skirt. Once again the red draws attention up. The cropped cardigan ensures that a touch of red is always visible. Wear the belt over the blouse but under the cardigan.

Everything else in this look is either black or navy. The necklace has subdued versions of all the color tones in this outfit. Optionally you could go with a single strand of smaller pearls, or a simple gold chain. We like the flowers because it gives a delicate, beautiful frame to your face and repeats the floral idea of the skirt.
