Styled: Great Escape Skirt

Anthropologie at ShopStyle

This post is for Kat, who requested outfit ideas for the Great Escape Skirt ($78) by Odille.

What a skirt. It’s pretty bright in real life but still matches well with a wide variety of colors. Here we went for a weekend look (our thought: cruising the green market). A skirt like this deserves to be paired with some sparkle, hence the tank choice. The cardigan pulls colors from every other component in the outfit while staying pretty subtle itself. We like how the chunkier shoes keep this look toned down. In fact, we now want this outfit for ourselves!

In this outfit:
Great Escape Skirt ($78)
Bordurette Tank ($98)
Tempting Trellis Cardigan ($98)
Struthio Platforms ($358)
MARC BY MARC JACOBS ‘Standard Supply’ Classic Canvas Tote ($100)
Speckled Tights ($18)
Favorite Things Necklace ($48)
Lassoed Asters Earrings ($32)

This option is the one we picture for work. We picked a blouse with a lovely ruffle neckline and picked a cowlneck sweater to go over it so that the shirt shows through a bit. Note this outfit is not for the meek — the brightness of the skirt plus red is going to stand out. In a good way! We kept everything else neutral and skipped the necklace for this outfit. With the blouse you don’t really need it.

In this outfit:
Great Escape Skirt ($78)
Marciano Emma Ruffle Top ($88)
Catch My I Cowlneck Sweater ($24)
Particular Ankle Boots ($188)
Anthropologie earrings (similar here and here)
Opaque Tights ($13)
Caged Crystal Ring (similar here and here)
Coccinelle JD5 13 Blondie Hobo ($395)

Here’s a fun in-between look we added as a bonus. Navy blue looks awesome with this skirt so we used the sweater as a jumping off point. Add in some black and you’ve got yourself a fun winterized look. The length of the sweater is good for protecting the skirt from stiff winter breezes. The tights have a fun diamond pattern that helps to ground the look and the owl tee shirt will have just a peek visible but provides some fun and puts a bounce in our step. We hope these suggestions give you some great ideas!

I loooooooooove that J.Crew cashmere v-neck henley, I've been salivating over that for some time!Your stylings are always great Roxy, do you think you could style the Gathered Together dress for a winter look? I just got it on sale (in green) and could use some inspiration!

I love what you've done with this sweater (although I wish this sweater was longer in length.) I think these are my favorites so far. They're very versatile and work appropriate.

Ooops sorry, I meant the skirt but I love the 'Tempting Trellis Cardigan' and wished it was longer.

When you style these and you say "we like this skirt paired with…", who is "we"? I'm curious.

Anon, you can read more about it in this post but I have a few friends helping me to compose these posts. Right now we're getting together once every couple of weeks to do a few outfits together. Sometimes I'm putting things together and getting their "yay" or "nay" or "swap this for this", etc.

Thank you so, so much! I'm getting this for X-Mas and was worried about making it work. Love all the looks, wonderful color matching. I particularly like the navy JCrew sweater with it.
