MMM…second cuts

I have to hand it to Anthropologie…ask and they seriously consider, and usually they come through. Thank you to everyone who commented yesterday in the sale thread of second cuts in-store! Your comments prompt quick reactions on the site (I think, anyway). This morning I received several tips that some items got second markdowns in the sale section (thank you Diem, Joanne, Tracy and a couple of little blue birdies). Items usually fly once they get a second cut so I apologize if any of the below is unavailable. With fresh cuts currently unavailable you’ll have to poke around each sale section. Here’s some of what we saw:

Anthropologie at ShopStyle
Anthropologie at ShopStyle
Anthropologie at ShopStyle
Eventide Dress (now $50)
Anthropologie at ShopStyle

Anthropologie at ShopStyle
Anthropologie at ShopStyle
Anthropologie at ShopStyle

But Anthro doesn’t get perfect marks. We’ve seen some discrepancies in price, including a few below. What else have you seen for less in-store?

Anthropologie at ShopStyle
Sidestep Skirt (still $50 online, $20 in-store)
Studded Fete Dress (still $70 online, $40 in-store)

Roxy: thank you so much for this heads up! I bought the Cascading Foliage for $109 and now it's $50 and I wouldn't have probably found out if it hadn't been for this blog! So YAY! and it was day 13 from the day I ordered. CS was very helpful…….

Good morning everyone! So glad to hear about the steals and price adjustments you're scoring. Tis the season. I did finally order my long-awaited Plaid Petals Skirt, and the Pessinus Necklace was back in stock for about a second this morning so I added that too. Hopefully it doesn't get canceled.Stephanie – Awesome! My December spending budget is just about exhausted so I will probably miss the tank but I'm glad you got it.Anon @ 8:21 AM – WOW. That's the stuff shopper's dreams are made of, considering the original price. Anon @ 9:51 – So happy for you! I totally remember the days of pining for stuff I couldn't afford in college. Price adjustments rock. So glad Anthro isn't stingy with them either unlike some brands I can think of…Dea – So glad to have you commenting. Welcome. :)Bronzi – A $250 dress for $50 is such an awesome deal! Good to hear that CS was helpful. Keep the tales coming. =) I have one more in-store steal to share but I have to snap some photos first when I get home tonight.

The recollections dress was $39.99 in my local store weeks ago when I picked it up.also- have you ever seen that lady of seville tank in real life? I haven't and I can't decide if its worth the buy (and potential return) based on the photos….http://fashionfoodfrivolity.blogspot.com/

I had been stalking the surprisingly cute Grandpa Cardi (really, you must try it before you dismiss it) for months…even after it was discounted and now it is $39.95! I bought both colors! Yay!

Great, good thing you waited on the Plaid Petals Skirt. I also got the cascading foliage dress since the price had dropped so much, I liked it before but not enough at the previous price. Yeah I pretty much busted my shopping budget for december.

  10. December 16, 2009 / 4:39 pm

Natalie – yes I have tried it on a few times and it's TTS lovely all the way. I have a full review in this post. My opinion? Worth it at $60.

  11. December 16, 2009 / 5:26 pm

It is nice to know they are listening, but I want them to hear this. The closest Anthro to me is 3.5 hrs away. They need to make everything in the store and online the SAME price and offer free return shipping or either build one within driving distance. WHEW–good to get that off my chest!!

  12. December 16, 2009 / 5:36 pm

twists of fate scoopneck is marked down to 9.95 in stores and is a great deal imo!

  13. December 16, 2009 / 5:46 pm

I was feeling really good about my Eventide dress purchase yesterday until I read the newest review on the site about it- "ilovejacob1millionxs" says she wore it for her 8th grade party. So is the same dress appropriate for a 13 year old as a 26 year old?

  14. December 16, 2009 / 6:02 pm

Rachel, where do you live? Out of curiosity. Ali – agreed, that's a great price for the top.Molly Darling I was ROFLing over your comment but yes I think it's fine to share a fashion commonality with a super youngin. I am jealous of her allowance!

Does anyone know if the Reverie Tank is cheaper in stores than online? And the Fall Foliage tank too? Thanks.

Hi Roxy,Thank you for posting the sale items! I just ordered the Cascading Foliage Dress (1 size smaller based on the reviews). I even went ahead and ordered the Golden Time Cuff to go with it. Having a gift card certainly helped!I am a new follower and wanted to thank you for your terrific blog!

Hi Roxy,New follower here and love love your blog! Q for you – I just purchased the Cascading Foliage dress for an office holiday party and plan to wear it with the Short & Sweet Jacket, Chevron tights in brown and a pair of mauve/tan t-strap wedges. Q is, how to jazz this up a bit with accessories to make it holidayish? Earrings? Bracelts? Bling? Help? Thanks for your help!Elizabeth

None of the items I want have gone near sale — the kimono caridgan, falling ribbon cardi, the glencar capelet, the elsa gloves, the bird chandelier. Come on, Anthro, I need sale love too!!!

hmm… apparently even stores have price discrepancies. Studded Fete Dress <- is 69.99 at my anthro store today.

  20. December 16, 2009 / 8:12 pm

Elizabeth – How fun! From Anthropologie, I like the Season's Bloom Necklace in either color. The blue reminds me of ice and the yellow seems more Christmasy. Both play up the flowery quality of the dress while keeping it holiday appropriate. Another pretty flowery necklace is the new Glimmer & Glint Necklace, though I'm a bit confused about why the availability date is 11/30/0002 (!!!). Uh, hoping that's not 3002.Lastly, if you want something subtle the Iced Lait Necklace makes me think of snow and winter white without specifically screaming CHRISTMAS. For earrings the Dazzling Daisy Posts have some sparkle to them (these would go with the second & third necklace) while the Muted Light Earrings look like mistletoe on your ears. In blue, they'd pair well with the first necklace. The Bits of Ice Bracelet would be a good option for wrist bling. Hope that helps a bit!

  21. December 16, 2009 / 8:17 pm

JenLynn, I don't know about the Fall Foliage Tank but since the Reverie Top is a new markdown I don't think it will be cheaper in-store.Welcome Loraine! That Golden Time Cuff is gorgeous. I'd love to hear more about it once you receive it.Anon @ 2:42 I'm sorry none of the items you hoped to see marked down made it to sale. I'm also waiting on the Falling Ribbon Cardi.ellie – Interesting. Stores will usually price match at least.

  22. December 16, 2009 / 8:30 pm

ellie, roxy, et al…i was just at the soho (nyc) anthro–the studded fete dress is $69.99 there as well. i actually bought it thinking it was a good price already, but now i want a price adjustment!can someone let me know which store has it for $49.99 in case they ask when i present my receipt?! thanks!btw, didn't check sizes, but there were a decent amt of cascading foliage dresses, diaphanous tunics (in navy and lilac), the silk turquoise tracy reese party dress (the name is escaping me-don't see it online anymore!) and various ruffian items if anyone is in need!

  23. December 16, 2009 / 10:02 pm

OMG, Thanks Stefanie! I just called the SoHo store and the Cascade Foliage Dress is on its way to me. My fingers are crossed, and I'm hoping for a smooth transaction.Thank you!

  24. December 16, 2009 / 10:26 pm

Thanks for the heads up, Roxy! I had the Cascading Foliage dress shipped from Nashville after online cancelled my order; called them earlier today for my price adjustment. The weird thing is that the SA I spoke to told me that they shred the order forms after the item has been shipped for privacy sake, so I had to fax a copy of my receipt and credit card details to the store. Shredding the order forms so soon seems so weird, doesn't it. What if there's an issue with the order and there's no record of it? Have you heard abt this before?

  25. December 16, 2009 / 10:34 pm

Hmm, I have not heard about that before but I think it makes sense. You have a record through your credit card company and I'd rather have anything with my full number on it destroyed ASAP.

  26. December 16, 2009 / 10:38 pm

I have gotten price adjustments previously done by giving them the Register no. and Transaction no. from the receipt. Faxing the receipt and credit card info doesn't seem like a standard policy though. It seems like every store does things differently. It isn't a big deal, but I just thought it was unusual.

  27. December 16, 2009 / 11:11 pm

tien-yay! so glad they had a size 0 for you and you snapped it up–i'll bet at the new lowered price, there won't be much stock left for long!one more time–if anyone can share with me where they saw the studded fete dress for $49.95, i'd greatly appreciate it!! thanks!

  28. December 17, 2009 / 1:51 am

sooo i stopped by anthro this evening telling myself i'd only check out the sale section but i ended up leaving with 2 full priced items and only 1 sale! i got the leifsdottir sprightly skirt for $59.95. I also got a sweater dress that was full price on the website and was sold out for awhile, so I guess its disappeared from the site? I don't know the name of it but it was short sleeved and heather grey. And lastly, I got a cropped cardigan that has a chanel-like look to it (sorry roxy, horrible descriptions, i'll have to post pics soon!)

    December 17, 2009 / 4:28 am

Oops typo: i meant 69.95 So at least it match online. Would love to save that extra $20 and spend it on something else!

  30. December 17, 2009 / 6:08 am

Just noticed the Snow Queen dress got marked down by another 50% online… Now it's $70. I just got mine in the mail last week (purchased on sale at $150). I went ahead and ordered another (identical) dress at $70, figuring that I'd mail back the $150 dress. Is there a better way to do price adjustments for online orders (I don't live anywhere near an Anthro store)?

All you have to do is send customer service an email saying you want a price adjustment.
