Styled: The Inspiration

Alright m’dears. I have dusted off my Polyvore account and slowly I’m diving back into assembling outfits. This will be the post of record for the Styled posts. I’ve compiled your requests from this post and this one and built outfits with the help of some of my talented friends (who for bloggie purposes prefer to remain Anonymous for now). If you have an Anthropologie item you’d like to see styled please leave a comment on this post.

These Styled posts were originally supposed to be done with the help of Anthropologie stylists but Anthro killed that idea like a busted lightbulb. Many thanks to my friends who helped pick up the slack! Due to the considerable amount of time it takes to find items for these sets I will only be able to work on a few a week. I will try to get through as much as I can in each sitting.

Just a little bit about the inspiration…I used to make outfits pretty regularly on the blog last summer. I unfortunately fell out of the series due to time requirements and some frustrations with Polyvore, but happily they’ve improved their user interface a lot since then. I was inspired to start using Polyvore by the incomparable Fabulous Florida Mommy. Her eye for classy styling has been a great jumping off point on many occasions for me. FFM specializes in J.Crew outfits but has also been known to incorporate Anthropologie items. I highly recommend her blog — FFM is on my blogroll and deserves a spot in your Follow list too. And of course as with everything else I found FFM through J.Crew Aficionada.

Once the posts start running I’ll compile them below. This post has its own button in the sidebar: Styled. Check back for links to the posts!

Hi Roxy. I'm so excited to see what you come up with! Personally, I'd like to see the Converging Roads dress styled. I love it, but with the big cut out armholes and the racerback, it's hard to wear (especially in winter) and I would to see what cover-up options you think would work. Thanks!

Could you please style the somerset cape (no longer sold)? I bought it a month ago and would love some new ideas on how to wear it, I think the silhotte is tricky.

I snagged a "revelations" skirt on sale last month in my store and I love it! See it on Kim here:http://anthroholic.blogspot.com/2009/09/i-spent-lot-of-time-in-anthropologies.htmlI have a gray cashmere turtleneck from Banana that I've tried with it, but it looks a little boring to me. Any other suggestions? If I can't find anything great to pair it with, I'm afraid I'll have to return it.Love this idea by the way!

This is such a fabulous idea! I'd love suggestions for the turquoise Rare Bloom Tee. I bought it and can't wait to wear it, but this time of year I definitely need to wear a layer over it, and am struggling with what with work well with the flower. And, if I'm allowed a second request, I'd also love ideas for the Stained Glass Top!Thanks so much for your fantastic blog and this great new feature!

Hullo Roxy! Love this blog and I love the Styled idea since I have tons of inspired Anthro pieces that I can't work into inspired outfits! I recently bought the Climbing Flowers Thigh-Highs in Cream and want to show them off rather than just use them as a layering item. I'd love some ideas!P.S. So glad you styled the Always-a-Lady skirt. I also bought that and ran into style block. The idea of pairing it with that shiny blue top really works for me!

can we still leave styling requests on this post?! if so…-leifsdottir sprightly skirt-lacemaker skirthaving trouble figuring out what sort of tops to work with those! they're both sorta showpieces on their own with the sprightly's bow and the lacemaker's vintage feel so hoping someone can suggest something fun on top (and tights!) that isn't too competitive with the bottom!-sleeping on snow's sketchbook pullover. caught this one with a big markdown on the salesrack recently…love the thickness and warmth of it, but other then a pair of skinny jeans, not sure how to work it…a bit long (which is fine, i'm a shade over 5'8") and wondering if that makes it tough to pair with skirts?thanks!!

Hi Roxy, I'd like to second Stefanie's request for the Lacemaker Skirt. I've figured out what to wear for dress-up and work (black All-Day Eddy Tee, white turtleneck with cropped floral cardigan, respectively), but I'd love to hear your ideas for casual, with an option for cool and warm weather, if possible. Thank you so much for helping fellow Anthrophiles! I totally appreciate it!

Hi Roxy,I just bought the Reed Shirtdress in green, and would love to see your styling ideas for work! I'm a teacher, so my dress code has some wiggle room, but I still need to look professional. Thanks!Sarah

I would love ideas for the Odille Pink Rose Ruffle Skirt. I love it but can't figure out what to wear with it!
