OOTD: November 6, 2009

Oh, happy exciting day in NYC! Today is the ticker tape parade for the New York Yankees. I am quite the sports fan and I’ve bled pinstripes my entire life. The parade route — up the Canyon of Heroes to City Hall — is right by my apartment and when I left for work this morning there was already a huge crowd lining Broadway. I will be attending the Key to the City ceremony at City Hall but had to come to work this morning. So I just brought a Yankees cap instead of being all decked out. Yet somehow I look so serious in the shot. Oh well.

For work, I used Idra’s Plaid Sailor Shorts (review here) as my base. I could hardly wait to wear these! It’s really windy in the city today so I’m layered up, courtesy of some Target tights, a F21 layering tee and a J.Crew Egyptian cotton sweater from 2007. The necklace is part of the Rachel Rachel Roy collection and the cord blazer is from Benetton’s 2008 winter collection. I threw on a scarf from Ann Taylor Loft and ran out the door! Some detail shots below.

Shorts and tights — they make me happy.
