The best of what’s on sale at Anthropologie: clothing

Good morning ladies! I woke up to find a bunch of new items added to sale. The fresh cuts page has updated. My cart is overflowing. I know a big question on everyone’s mind is should you wait until Friday to buy? My honest opinion? No, because even on the very slim chance that Anthropologie does do an extra % off of sale items there’s a good chance the item you want will be gone. Any extra % off are bound to be in-store only — unless they do something completely new. I will head to the store today to see if there are any second markdowns. If you see any in-store feel free to send a tip along. Til then, happy hunting!

Sigh. Nothing that is on my wish list or in my cart has been marked down, with the exception of the Lilac Ombre heels. However, I don't want to pay a shipping cost so I will be passing. It's good for my bank account, though!

  2. November 24, 2009 / 1:14 pm

That's odd Jacquelyn — the Lilac Ombre Heels aren't even showing up in the shoe section anymore! How much are they on sale for?

  3. November 24, 2009 / 1:18 pm

roxy how do you get the sale items so early / i didnt see them in the sale section yet

  4. November 24, 2009 / 1:29 pm

ali, they are around the site. Most of these are on my wishlist so I see the sale prices there.

  5. November 24, 2009 / 1:32 pm

    thanks for the tip

I AM SO BUMMED!!!I ran out last night to my Anthro…picked up the pieces, I KNEW, would be on sale…and their not?!do i keep or do i return?!drenched helenium tee and the foliage fireworks top!

  7. November 24, 2009 / 1:41 pm

Oh no Rebecca! Could they possibly be items that will be added to sale on Friday? If you can only keep one, my vote is keep the Drenched Helenium Tee. It's so beautiful.

  8. November 24, 2009 / 1:54 pm

Ack! I wanted the distant constellation boots so bad, but they're only available in a nine now. Boo.

  9. November 24, 2009 / 2:07 pm

Hmmm… I see many things I want here. Thanks for this 🙂

Roxy — are you going to be able to stay on budget with this sale?

  11. November 24, 2009 / 2:29 pm

Ah, Diem! I love that you're keeping tabs. Yes, but only because I sold some stuff on ebay. Hopefully my financial adviser doesn't consider that cheating. 🙂 Thanks for asking, it helps me to stay on track.

  12. November 24, 2009 / 2:39 pm

I've had that blue bag on my wishlist forever, but 90 is still too steep i think!

Roxy — when did you get the Party Petal skirt? Was it 2 weeks ago? It just got marked down again today to $39.95.

Rebecca-Nordstrom has the foliage fireworks top on sale for $29.90 and it's called the 'Gemma Ruffle Front Silk Blouse' but they only have a large left as far as sizes. I wish I would have known earlier…this top has been on sale for a while at Nordstrom.

  15. November 24, 2009 / 2:47 pm

thanks for posting roxy! I just ordered in a flurry and it was a total budget buster – the gray snakebite on backorder, a chemise for a friend's xmas gift, the whirling ruffles dress (yay!), the soft drapes blouse, and the high speed cardigan! merry xmas to me – ha ha!

  16. November 24, 2009 / 2:52 pm

he he Roxy, I sold on Ebay this weekend too. That is how I bought the things I wanted this morning too. Only a couple of things but still (1 skirt and 2 tights. I didn't feel like going to the store so I just paid the shipping)

  17. November 24, 2009 / 2:58 pm

ooh Im kicking myself frayed bouquet top, I knew it would go on sale, and I bought it anyway!at least it wasn't crazy expensive.

So happy! I had ordered a popback Curled Zinnia dress last week at 89.99, received one with a hole (how disappointing!), and the day I returned the backordered ones showed up. Wasn't sure if I wanted to shell out another 90 bucks, but today, they're marked down to 39.99! Definitely worth snapping up at that price.

  19. November 24, 2009 / 3:04 pm

Diem – I had returned it so hmmm, maybe today is the day I buy and keep it.Diana – Bummer! I know that Endless has them (still full price at the moment — FRYE Women's Fiona Studded Mid Boot — but hopefully they will go on sale there soon. Also watch ebay, I've seen a few pairs pop up there in the $250-range.

$39.95 is a great steal for that skirt. I am thinking about the soft drapes blouse. How is the fit? Should I do blue or orange?

  21. November 24, 2009 / 3:10 pm

Diem – it fits TTS, I went with my true size 6, which is a bit snug around my chest but otherwise perfect. I ordered the blue this morning to go with my orange version. Personally I love the orange version, it's so different and a really nice shade. But it does stand out! So if you're more on the subtle tip I'd go with the blue.Natalie – you might be eligible for a price adjustment. When did you buy the top?

  22. November 24, 2009 / 3:14 pm

Nothing too exciting for me this morning, though I did pick up the Bengal skirt and the Curled Zinnia Dress (!) for $39.99 each. I hadn't ever even considered the Curled Zinnia, but for that price it was WAY too good to pass up.Nice to see that the Birling Ruffle Coat is on sale! It's so nice for Fall/Winter. Though I just bought it last week on eBay anyway 😉 Oh well, still ~$60 cheaper for me with taxes and everything.Me personally, I'm still hoping the Diaphanous Tunic and the Fall Folliage Dress hurry up and go on sale later this week.

  23. November 24, 2009 / 3:45 pm

Sharon: Thanks so much for the info!!I'm a large actually and am buying it ASAP!!!somewhat a new anthro newbie… any hints for looking at Nordstrom for other anthro pieces?

You're welcome Rebecca! Roxy-I'm loving the new sale items at Anthro! I need to start playing the lotto…I have too many things in my basket…

  25. November 24, 2009 / 6:56 pm

I was actually pretty disappointed with the sale. I couldn't find a single thing on sale that I liked!Roxy I wanted to ask you if you think I should snatch up the Garnet Glow dress (its back online!) Do you think it will ever go on sale? They don't have my size online so I would have to order it through a store. What do you think?

    November 24, 2009 / 7:23 pm

Yes!! Thanks, Roxy! Just scored a Tatine le Vieux Monde candle and the Lilac Ombre heels. Can't believe they had them in my size!

  27. November 24, 2009 / 7:27 pm

Hi Lacey, I think there is a high likelihood the Garnet Glow Dress will go on sale. If you can wait (and won't be terribly upset with me if I'm wrong) I say wait.So happy to hear about everyone's scores! I'm curious to know what you all got. I ended up ordering the Soft Drapes Blouse in navy, the High Speed Cardigan and the Rustled Air Sweater. And the Organized Chaos Tank as a popback. 🙂

I could use some sizing help for the whirling ruffles sweater dress. I see in your review you went with the small. This will be my first Anthro order (I live in Canada), so I am not familiar with their sizing. I wear a small or medium in most clothes, so I'm torn! I'm 5"4" and 140 pounds if that helps! TIA!Dana

Ooh! I so love the Lilac Ombre heels, but even before the sale, they sold out in my size. Does anyone know if there is somewhere else I can look for Miss Albright shoes?

  31. Diem
    November 24, 2009 / 9:24 pm

Anonymous — Miss Albright is an Anthro brand. You could try calling Customer Service to see if they are still available in the store.

  32. November 24, 2009 / 9:29 pm

Anonymous – r/e the Lilac Ombre heels, you may wish to bookmark the page and keep checking back. In my case, they were sold out of my size in both the Lilac Ombre heels and the Complement and Counterpoint peep toes, but I continued to check the page and suddenly my size reappeared. Maybe it was a return? Whatever the reason, I ended up getting both pairs on major sale. Happy day!!

  33. November 24, 2009 / 9:31 pm

Gawd, I'm so bad. I order the Luxe Dotted Tights in black (bought the grey at full price and loooove them), Ruffled Cowlneck Cardi in turquoise which has been on my wish list for-eva, and some other stuff. My husband barred me from shopping for myself until after the holidays…However, I did do some holiday shopping which make me feel less guilty. Tee hee.

  34. November 24, 2009 / 10:10 pm

Dana — I think the small would be the best for you in the Whirling Ruffles Dress. It has give to it so you should be fine in the smaller size. Please let me know how it works out! Sorry about the delay in getting back to you — busy day here at my work.

Thank you Roxy! I'm so excited, I ordered the Whirling Ruffles sweater dress and it's my first Anthro piece. I live in Canada and the shipping and duty charges are ridiculous ($50+). I called the Toronto location and they had a small in stock, so they're shipping it to me for $10. Thanks for your help on sizing. Can't wait to get it!

  36. November 25, 2009 / 2:59 pm

I didn't comment yesterday because I clicked straight thru to order the bric a brac boots. I hope they are super cute. I also ordered the measuring spoon set. I saw it in store & it's been in mind ever since. And I can't recall the 3rd item I ordered to qualify for free shipping. oops. Thanks for the info!

  37. November 25, 2009 / 3:50 pm

fyi for all those in Canada. The free shipping applies to us too! just make sure that your order is over $150USD and it should kick in! (you still have to pay the duty charges, but it's pretty much the same as tax)

  38. November 25, 2009 / 10:56 pm

Is anyone else surprised to see so many items from the October catalog on the sale rack this month? I was surprised to see the "recollections" dress show up on sale so quickly. Just curious to know whether I'm just crazy or whether the turnaround between "new" and "sale" has sped up (possibly because the holidays are approaching?).
