Today in “Man Shops Globe”

The New York Times was at the “Man Shops Globe” premiere party held in Anthropologie’s NYC Rockefeller Plaza store on Monday night. Mostly their story is about what people wore but there’s also an anecdote about MSG star/head Anthropologie buyer Keith Johnson and partner/Urban Outfitters CEO Glen Senk:

It has been said that the men, both 53, fell for each other when they were in grade school. Can this be true?

“I moved next door to him, at age 9, and the first day I saw him, I fell in love with him,” Mr. Senk said. “It was otherworldly. I felt sparks all over my body. Literally, I saw stars. He was the kindest, sweetest, most wonderful person. I feel like that 44 years later.”

What about Mr. Johnson?

“It took a few years to convince me,” Mr. Johnson said. “He didn’t convince me until I was 12.”

“I’m very goal-oriented,” Mr. Senk said.

OK, I might be swooning a little. And maybe a bit jealous — I adore love at first sight stories.

Meanwhile Racked snagged a preview which they’ve posted today. I see the comment about the show being available on Time Warner video on demand, I’m going to check mine to see if I have it too! One week til the show’s premiere on the Sundance Channel. If Mr. Johnson ever needs a jet-setting intern, I am so there.
