I really like the Corby shift dress on you, but am wondering about the fit. You mentioned that you had to size down. Is it really that large? I am usually a size 2. If I went with a size 0, would it still be too big? Is it too dressy to wear to work?

No problem pixelant! By the way I found your blog through Gigi and I'm loving it!Diem, I think you'd be fine in the 0. It will be a little roomy but since it's a long shift I think you'll be the only one to notice. In my opinion it's too dressy to wear to work for day but it would be great for a night work event or a party. Hope that helps.

I may need to get another necklace tank 🙂 How would you wear that in the winter? I have the yellow one – and as a rounder in the middle person belts don't always look good.

Jo, I think throw a cardigan or a v-neck sweater over it and you're good to go. I also saw a woman who wore a black turtleneck under it — not sure if I could pull off the look but it sure looked great on her!Beautiful scarf, elledee!

How would I style the Bengal stripe skirt? Should I do a black sweater on top? The grey is hard to match.

Black would be great for a chic look Diem. You could also do dark jewel tones (dark gold, dark teal, wine, sapphire/cobalt, etc.). Just watch the length on any tops. Too long and the volume of the skirt will interrupt your silhouette. The skirt is on my list! Hope it lasts til I get paid on Friday. I did break down and buy the Corby Shift during lunch. Just too stunning to pass up.

I'm looking for the Corby Shift in a size 0. I've called two stores and they don't have it. If I get this dress, I'll have to return the Cosgrove dress that I bought from Anthro. Luckily, they don't have time limit on returns.

Good luck finding it! Soho's smallest size was a 4. I have to make a return tonight so I'll run by 5th Ave — if they have a 0 I'll put it on hold for you.

Thanks. They have three on line, but I'm trying to avoid having to pay shipping — an additional $10.95.

Okay, I broke down and ordered the Corby dress on line because I called six stores and none of them had it. I didn't want to regret not getting this since it seems to be going quickly.

Thanks to you Diem and Roxy's review I just bought the Corby shift (so much for saving my $$ for new stuff I want) – given that size 0 is often too big for me it might need to be tailored, but it is just such a gorgeous dress. And thanks for saving me calling around – I think most stores were sold out in Sz 0 a while ago as I haven't seen one for a while (even travelling etc). But everytime I see one of the girls who works in a local store I go to wear it, I notice how nice she looks. So, thanks for the enabling 🙂

Anonymous — I think Roxy deserves all the credit 🙂 But you know what at least now we won't be kicking ourselves later on for not ordering this great dress. Roxy — I tried the bengal stripe skirt with a maroon cardigan and a grey lace cami under and then belted with the grey snakebite belt. It looks really good with the dark maroon color sweater. Thanks for the suggestions.
