Don’t forget! Man Shops Globe premieres tonight

This is a reminder that “Man Shops Globe” premieres tonight at 10 PM on the Sundance Channel. Follow along with head Anthropologie buyer Keith Johnson as he travels to France looking for the perfect items to decorate the first London store.

I was able to view the episode over the weekend via RCN’s On Demand service. I’ll withhold my thoughts until late tonight but suffice it to say I liked the show! (You’re shocked, I know.) Anthropologie’s Rockefeller Plaza store here in NYC has several of the items from the show on display. They won’t make much sense until after you see the show, so consider this your sneak peek:

This writing desk/chair set is my favorite.
I only wish I could afford to buy it!

This guy's got the Midas touch! Or rather, it looks like he's a genius at finding unique old stuff and putting it together to make it look good. I'm intrigued. Salon had an article about this show recently:Overpriced antiques for anxious yuppiesI don't have cable TV, but I am going to the SF MSG event tonight – no matter how anxious or yuppie that may christen me.

Diana Draw, I read that article and wow. No love lost there clearly. The Washington Post also felt it necessary not only to skewer the show but the people who shop at Anthropologie. To which I say (sadly, as a former newspaper staffer) THIS is why newspapers are dying.

Some of the commenters have valid points. But it also goes to show how the Internet can really bring out the worst in people.
