Stream of consciousness: Anthropologie September catalogue

The new catalogue is now online here. I grabbed a copy at one of the NYC Anthropologies over the weekend and what a welcome return to form it is! The pictures are everything I expect from an Anthro catalog: nostalgic settings with a slightly overexposed, dreamy quality to them. It also helps that the clothing is happily on-target. I hate to make it sound like I’m against change but never change your catalogues again Anthropologie! This is the right size, the right font, the right clothes, the right models. And judging by some of the product shots I believe an adornments catalogue is coming in the very near future.

Let’s take a trip back to classic

Couldn't agree with you more – this Anthro catalog feels much more back to the Anthro catalogs we know and love! So glad to see it – can't wait to get my copy!

Off topic, does anyone have and Anthropologie quilt for their bed? I found one for my daughter's room, but they say dry clean. Not dry clean only, I wonder if anyone who has one washes it. Really, do I want dry clean only bedding? I figure they say that to cya any problems. Thanks for any help!

I had an Anthro quilt, and it was definitely dry clean only, whatever the tag said. Not only that, one time I took it to the dry cleaners, but once I got home I realized that it had come back damp for some reason. The fill was ruined, and the dry cleaners refused to compensate me though they had obviously done something wrong. It hasn't turned me away from Anthro quilts, but I always check them before leaving the dry cleaners just to make sure.

I'm sorry this is the most boring Anthro catalog yet. Where's the story? The fonts are boring, the main model is dead behind the eyes, it's uninteresting. Change is a good thing, fashion evolves and so should Anthro. This is disappointing.
